A model to evaluate the capability of multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) intercepting cruise missile is established, based on some new MLRS which is used in the city air defence system. The efficiency of the MLRS is analyzed by means of theory and simulation.The model of MLRS intercepting cruise missile is established. And the function to solve the impact point is set up based on reasonable assume of aim motility. Then the fair capability of the MLRS is analyzed, including damage volume, emission area, firing duration and shoot distance. All kinds of dispersions of the MLRS are analyzed by the numbers and the formulas of fire error are worked out.In order to enhance the hit probability, the MLRS increase the firing rate to the utmost extent. Thus, because of very short interval (about 0.2s) between two salvos, influence of combustion-gas flow of front projectile to trajectory of back projectile could not be ignored. That makes it difficult to simulate the influence of those factors upon ABD. To solve this difficulty, a three-dimensional solid model is established with ADAMS simulation software according to the actual size and structure of the rocket system. This model provides the quantity of components, position of mass center and moment of inertia for dynamics analysis. To study the strength of back projectile when being launched, a model of combustion-gas flow in ballistic coordinates system is established with CFD simulation method. Acting forces and points are obtained by simulation analyze.The simulation results of fire density and fire accuracy are obtained by solving the extern trajectory equations with Monte-Carlo method. Then, with the results of fire density and fire accuracy, a model to solve the hit equation and damage probability is established in MATLAB simulation software. The results show that the conventional concentration firing system is higher damage probability when target diffuse is lesser and on the contrary the multiple armament datum firing system is higher damage probability.To optimize the damage probability, the particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO) is adopted to optimize the system parameters, based on above models. The optimization results show that the MLRS can damage cruise missile in high probability if the target can be shot several times in its track.At last, the simulation system of the MLRS intercepting cruise missile is developed...
