Objective: To investigate the effects of molybdenum (Mo) on CO、ACh、carbonyl and microelement in mice. Methods: Total of one hundred and sixty thirty days mice were randomly divided into four groups (Ⅰ, II, III, IV).0,100,200,400mg/l Mo were added to drinking water of the four groups to establish the model. At the date of schedule, mice come from different groups were randomly selected and killed. Then brain, liver, kidney, testis were examined to study the effects of different doses of molybdenum on Co, Ach, carbonyl and microelement of these tissue.Results:1. On the fifth and seventh weeks, CO in the brain tissue of experiment groups were increase with molybdenum dose raised. On ninth and eleventh weeks, Co in group II, III, IV were higher than of groupⅠ(control group). On seventh and eleventh weeks, CO in the liver of group III, IV were significantly increased with molybdenum dose increased (P <0.05) III, IV group. On eleventh week, CO in the kidney of each experimental group is getting increased. CO in testis of group II, III, IV is becoming increased as time goes by.from the beginning o f the seventh week.2. ACh in brain tissue of group II, III, IV decreased with molybdenum dose increased and time expand. It compared with group I had extremely significant difference (P <0.01); ACh in heart and gastrointestinal tissues declined steadily of group IV since fifth weeks, but the content was significantly higher than that in the heart of control group. However, ACh in gastrointestinal was lower than that of the control group.3.Carbonyl in liver of the test groups increased with molybdenum dose increased, and there was significant difference between different groups (P <0.05); With the passage of time, the upward trend and the difference was significant of carbonyl in each experimental group (P <0.05) in the kidney. 4.Molybdenum content in brains of all groups below the detection value (0.01ppm), but, copper in group II, III, IV was higher than control group. Mo in liver of test groups was significantly higher than control group. However, the copper content is descending trend. Copper and molybdenum content in kidney of test groups were higher than those in control group.Conclusion:1. Mo (≥100mg/l) can improve the endogenous CO content in brain、liver、kidney and testis tissue of mice.2.The levels of ACh in brain、heart and gastrointestinal are changed with Mo increased and time expend.3.Molybdenum (≥100mg/l) can cause carbonyl content in liver and kidney increased along with the prolonging of time and molybdenum dose increased.4.Molybdenum were accumulated in the tissues of mice liver, kidney, but no accumulation in the brain tissue of mice. Molybdenum (≥100mg/l) can promote the increase of copper content in brain and kidney tissues, instead, it will cause lower pigment content in the liver tissue of the copper coin.
