This experiment was conducted to research the effects of diet added monensin and tween80on feed intake, daily gain, nitrogen metabolism, carbon metabolism, ruminal VFAconcentration, methane emissions and energy metabolism of Grassland Red Cattle. Eighthealthy grassland red cattles with an average age of seventeen months and an average bodyweight of(276±18)kg was selected to divided into four groups randomly which was offeredseparately: the basic diet(including the concentrate and Guinea Grass) added no additive; thebasic diet added monensin(0.36g/d); the basic diet added tween-80(1.75g/d); the basic dietadded monensin(0.36g/d) and tween80(1.75g/d). A4×4double repeat latin square design wasadopted. The results showed that:①Under the condition of the same concentrated feedintake, the monensin can significantly increased Guinea Grass feed intake(P0.05), and haveno significantly effect on Guinea Grass feed intake when body weight gain1kg compared withcontrol group, but tween80, on the other hand..②The monensin can significantly increasedcontent of N intake(P<0.05).The four groups has no significant effect on FN,UN, nitrogendeposition, digestibility of nitrogen.③T he monensin can significantly increasedcontent of Cintake, and carbon deposition(P<0.05).The four groups have no significantly effect on FC,UCand carbon dioxide.④The monensin can significantly increased the concentrate of total VFAand the proportion of propionic acid(P<0.05), the tween-80can significantly increased theproportion of propionic acid(P<0.05).⑤The monensin can significantly reduced CH4/kgDG(L/kg) by31.89%(P<0.05). The tween-80reduced DMI/kg DG and CH4/kg DG (L/kg) by16.85%and22.59%respectively at the same time.⑥The monensin can significantly increasedproportion of deposition energy in GE and significantly reduced methane energy(P<0.05). Thetween80can significantly increased deposition energy in GE(P<0.05), but have no effect onmethane energy.⑦The effets on every indicators of Grassland Red Cattle of the basic diet addedmonensin and tween-80at the same time have not been enhanced. According to the aboveindicators we can make the conclusion, the monensin have the significantly positive-effect ofGrassland Red Cattle on nitrogen and carbon metabolism, the performance of rumenfermentation and energy metabolism. Tween80′s positive effect to the above indexes are notreached significant level. The both can significantly reduced CH4/kg DG.
