| Large yellow croaker, Pseudosciaena crocea, being the typical marine economic fish in China,becomes one of large-scale mariculture fish and predominant export aquatic products at present. Sincefrom1980s, many aquaculture researchers have conducted successfully the artificial breeding and culture,leading to the culture area covering Fujian, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Jiangsu and other provinces. Accordingto the governmental statistics in2013, the yields of large yellow croaker cultured in China come to0.15million tons, which create the enormous economic benefit and social benefit. Usually, the parent fish oflarge yellow croaker were from identical germplasm resources of Mindong Fujian, however, somephenomenon, including sex precocity, individual miniaturization, weak disease resistance, quality decrease,appeared due to inbreeding and germplasm degeneration. Besides, traditional cages were adopted usuallywooden float cage which was the main vector for culturing large yellow croaker in coastal bay. Generalspeaking, this kind of cage culture were performed at the bay with slow flow and clean water. Majority oflarge yellow croaker were cultured in the intensive cages, lack of water exchange, especially feeding onraw fish. This feeding mode would result in poor water quality, eutrophication, water pollution, inferiorlevel of industry management and great culture risk.With the maturation and perfection of artificial breeding technique, large yellow croaker cultured in thecage has been developed rapidly. At present, many farmers cultured the large yellow croaker using thetraditional cage as main mode. Some culture practices verify that the quality of large yellow croaker such asbody color, muscle cultured in the shallow sea and purse seining, offshore net cage was better than that inthe traditional cage, which was comparable with that of wild large yellow croaker. From Oct.2011to Sep.2013, the experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of different culture modes (purse seining inthe shallow sea, anti-wave deep sea cageand traditional cage) on the quality of large yellow croaker. In thisstudy, under the same conditions (experimental samples species, feed, culture sea area and culture period),the water factors of three different culture modes were determined continuously, and compare thecultivation large yellow croaker so as to provide the information. The results showed that water temperature,pH and salinity under three different culture modes in the Nanji island, Wenzhou, were not significant(P<0.05). By comparison, the body color of large yellow croaker cultured in the purse seining) approachthat of wild croaker, the next is in the anti-wave deep sea cage, which is superior to the croaker in thetraditional cage. As for the sensory traits, the characteristics cultured in the purse seining were better thanthat in the anti-wave deep sea cage and traditional cage. Hence, it is concluded from above-mentioned thatthe qualities of large yellow croaker cultured in the purse seining were close to that of wild large yellowcroaker, and better than that in the traditional cage. The results indicated that the culture environment couldbe improved using the purse seining, regarding as a feasible measure for upgrading the quality of largeyellow croaker. |
