| With the development of society, traditional pedogenesis classification cannot meet the needs of actual scientific research. Soil taxonomy with quantitative, systematic, standardized and unified characters is widely used. So, it’s necessary to have a comprehensive research to help regional soil taxonomy. An effective study of soil properties and soil-forming factors are helpful to drive scientific application of soil taxonomy. A survey of soil classification was started in Fujian province, located in the southeast coast of China. However, a province-wide study system has not been established. For a comprehensive understanding of types and distribution characteristics of Fujian soils, it is recommendable to establishing the typical soil series category and the appraisal basis in the province. On the basis of field investigation and laboratory analysis, this paper discussed the main senior taxons types and its’distribution characteristics of Fujian soli taxonomy combined with the China soil series research. The basis of division and appraisal of soil families and soil series were studied and established the soil database of Fujian province. The results obtained in the study were summarized as follow:By Systematic analyzing the representative soils of Fujian province, according to keys to China Soil Taxonomy, the160profiles included8orders,18suborders,38groups,67subgroups,140soil families and157soil series. The orders are Anthrosols, Ferralosols, Vertosols, Halosols, Ferrosols, Argosols, Cambosols and Primosols. The Anthrosols included Stagnic Anthrosols and Orthic Anthrosols. The soils of Fujian province represented regional distribution:Anthrosols were mainly distributed in Low hills and valley terraces of the west and north of Fujian. Ferralosols were mainly distributed in Gentle slope hills or the ground of Zhagnzhou and Nanping city. Vertosols scattered in coastal gently low hills and platform. Halosols were mainly distributed in the coastal static water bay and the estuarine tidal flats high tide zone of southeast of Fujian. Ferrosols were widely distributed in the foot of hill slope or platforms of the southwest and northwest of Fujian. Argosols were mainly distributed in the coastal low hills and platform of the southeast and the foot of hill slope zone of the northwest of Fujian province. Cambosols were mainly distributed in the low mountain and the hills which were greatly influenced by human activities of the northwest of Fujian. It was also distributed in the stream valley alluvial plain of the southeast coast of Fujian. Primosols were widly distributed in the coastal plain and alluvial plain and the coastal alluvial flat of Mingjiang, It was also distributed in the upslope or the top of low hills of northwest and east of Fujian province.157soil series were established in Fujian province. Stagnic Anthrosols involved38soil series which were represented by Majiawei series. Orthic Anthrosols includes Xincun and Xiamen series. Ferralosols had3soil series, such as, Dongyou, Shaowu and Changqiao series. Vertosols had only one series, which is Futan series. Halosols had8soil series which were represented by Tantou series. Ferrosols established28series, such as Zhangpu, Yanping,Laiyuan series.Argosols include17soil series, like Shanglin, Shitun and Wujiafang series. Cambosols have36series which were represented by Zhengyuan, Maping and Siqiao series. Primosols included24series, for example, Chencheng series, Taikou series and Chixi series. There were almost10soil properties taken into account as divided soil series. They were soil depth, soil pH, topsoil texture, soil color, soil moisture regimes, Argic horizon depth, Gleyic features, Ferric property, soil organic matter, parent material sources and so on.Based on the study of senior taxons and soil series, soil series database was established. The relationship between soil types and soil factors, soil properties were also constructed. Moreover, a reference was made between the types of soil genetic and taxonomy of Fujian province. |
