Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is an important zoonotic agent that can form biofilm at thesite of infection, and also cause Bovine Mastitis. Once the biofilm formation, the bacteria whichimplanted in the biofilm can evade the host immune response and also compared with planktonicbacteria, the sensitivity to antibiotics and disinfectants are greatly reduced. In this article, throughthe dandelion aqueous extract of mature staphylococcus aureus bacteria biofilm inhibition, toexplore the antibacterial mechanism of the dandelion, clinical infection of staphylococcus aureus, especially chronic infection provides a new method, and in order to further study the dandelionantibacterial active ingredients, bacteriostasis mechanism lay the foundation. Methods and Results:Trace broth dilution method is used to test the dandelion extract onstaphylococcus aureus planktonic bacteria minimal inhibitory concentration (MlC)and minimumbactericidal concentration (MBC),wipe with tablet were determined dandelion aqueous extract ofstaphylococcus aureus biofilm minimum bacteriostatic concentration (MBIC) and (MBBC),andcrystal violet semi-quantitative method further validation.Through electronic microscope dandelionextract concentration on the formation of bacterial biofilm. The results are as follows:(1) Crystal violet staining assay showed that biofilm formation by S. aureus was effectivelyinhibited when toratol reached its MIC,and remarkably, biofilm formation were induced whentoratol was used at1/8MIC.(2) The amount of eDNA were extracted andquantified by the spectrophotometer. Resultsshowed that eDNA release were effectively inhibited by dandelion water extract in a dose-dependent way, and remarkably, eDNA release was induced when toratol was used at0.125μg/mL.(3) Electron microscope observation:through electronic microscope dandelion extractconcentration on the formation of bacterial biofilm have inhibition and role of mature biofilm toeliminate. Conclusion:dandelion aqueous extract on staphylococcus aureus has good antibacterial andbactericidal effect;Dandelion aqueous extract can affect eDNA release quantity; Dandelion aqueousextract of staphylococcus aureus biofilm inhibition, to eliminate the mature biofilm.
