11alfalfa materials at home and abroad were taken as objects of study to make adaptability evaluations in Zhenglan Banner pasture seeds multiplying farm from2012to2013. Through the measure and analysis of growth and development characters, physiological indexs and photosynthetic traits, the results were as follows:(1) The output of alfalfa was proportional to the probability of the height of plant, the hairchested degree of collar, regrowth rate and wintering rate; dry-fresh ratio and leaf rate were symbolizations of alfalfa quality, alfalfa quality and dry-fresh ratio have negative correlation, while alfalfa is positively correlated with leaf rate. The evaluations of eleven alfalfa materials growth and development characters could be divided into four categories, Caoyuan No.3. Algonquin and Radar did good jobs; Shangdu and Junggar performed less well.(2) Alfalfa blade relative water content had different performances in different puberty, its main tendency was "high-gradual decline-slowly rising"; soluble sugar and the content of free Pro in the root of alfalfa were notable proportional to its resistance, their content rise in late autumn and early winter and kept the higher level during the whole winter, declined in spring when they turned green.(3) A variety of photosynthetic characteristics index combination interaction affects the photosynthetic characteristics of alfalfa. Five photosynthesis characteristic indexes of11alfalfa materials which grew in the third year was taken to make clustering analysis, it can be divided into relatively excellent, good, average and poor four categories, and the AmeriStand performed best, CW-200and AC Caribou performed poor.(4) The comprehensive assessment score showed that Radar had the best adaptability, while the worst was Junggar above the eleven alfalfa materials. Shangdu as the good wild planting material in Zhenglan Banner, its comprehensive score was below average quality, but its physiological characters were better and these could be valuable to the resistance research of alfalfa in Zhenalan Banner.
