Aiming at the problems which are crop emergence, seedling production and low yield in the loess platean in Inner Mongolia, this paper studied the effects of sandy soil amendment (6000kg/hm2(D1),12000kg/hm2(D2),18000kg/hm2(D3),24000kg/hm2(D4),30000kg/hm2(D5)) on keeping crop seedling against drought, soil improvement and the innerannual effect of sandy soil amendment. The results showed as follows:1. Sandy soil amendments had the effects of keeping crop seedling against drought. The emergence rate was increased by1.22%to8.83%, and the seedling plant height increased by0to23.46%, the growth rate of dry matter increased by1.36%to34.55%; Also water saving materials improved the soil drought resistance in seedling stage, the water storage content increased by1.26%to17.81%.2. Sandy soil amendment improved soil physical and chemical characteristics, especially in10to20cm soil layer. And the soil water content increased1.20mm to13.92mm, soil aggregate content increased by4.26%to32.46%, soil bulk desity decreased0to0.11g·cm-3, soil porosity increased by0to3.63%; The soil organic matter content increased by0.29%to9.79%, soil avalible nitrogen content increased by3.36%to12.70%, soil avalible phosphorus content increased by1.24%to11.97%, soil available potassium content increased by3.76%to10.01%.3. Sandy soil amendment improved soil biological characteristics, especially in10to20cm soil layer. The soil microbial biomass C content increased by1.87%to21.27%, N content increased by0.98%to30.71%, P content increased by0.71%to22.17%, the soil catalase activity increased by2.08%to19.09%, invertase activity increased by0to18.21%, and alkaline phosphatase activity increased by1.45%to28.99%.4. Sandy soil amendment increased crop yield and economic benefit. The per unit area yield increased by1.00%to13.92%, Water productivity increased by2.97%to21.12%, the water use efficiency increased by2.02%to31.28%, the crop output increased by1.25%to14.12%. But different fertilizer had different economic benefit:D3and D4increased respectively1323.1yuan-hm-2,237.4yuan-hm-2.5. Sandy soil amendments had the effect on keeping crop seedling against drought, increasing the emergence rate, improving soil physicochemicai characteristics and biological characteristics, enhance with the application years increased, and D3, D4showed a better effect.
