Sweet sorghum with high stem yield and sugar, not only can provide heavy feeder, but be raw material for industrial production of ethanol, so called "high energy crop". Therefore, it is of great significance for our country’s energy, food and environmental safety to develop the cultivation of sweet sorghum. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between six main agronomic characters of sweet sorghum, could be used as recommendations for future development and utilization of materials which can provide high yielding of stem and sugar. The common culture of sweet sorghum in the town Wu Yuan and Ning Cheng, as well the city Huhhot was used in this experiment. The data of the six agronomic traits were gathered and the economic indexes were determined at maturation stage, and the determination results are as follows:1.Correlation analysis indicated that there was a significantly correlation between each other of the six agronomic traits. There was a positive correlation between stem weight and plant height, stem section number, spike length, brix as well as stem diameter, respectively. There was also a positive correlation between brix and stem diameter. However, brix was significantly negative correlated with plant height, internode numbers and spike length.2. The regression analysis and path analysisPath analysis manifested that, for stem heavy, the absolute value size of effects with the other five agronomic traits were stem diameter> ear length> stem section number> plant height> brix. Therefore, to increase plant height, expand the stem diameter, and increase internodes numbers even spike length can obtain more stem yield.Regression analysis showed that, for brix, the regression coefficient and direct path coefficient with plant height, internode numbers, spike length and stem weight were negative, so the four agronomic traits had negative effect to brix, but the stem diameter had a positive effect on brix. In brief, the absolute value size of the direct path coefficient was plant height> ear length> stem diameter> number of internodes> stem weight. This shows that to choose the brawny stem with both moderate number of internodes and spike length as well as, that is easy to obtain plants with better brix. 3. Known from the analysis of the change trend stem heavy along with brix, when stem weight stayed below300g, brix increased with stem weight; While brix dug down slowly and gradually as the stem weight was greater than300g.In details, brix got the highest value when stem weight was201-300g, and brix catched the lowest value when stem weight over800g, also when stem weight was400-800g, the value was relatively stable.
