Soil temperature is an important factor to ensure good growth in paddy field,Sodetecting temperature is particularly important. The tradition of using artificial soiltemperature detection system has been unable to meet demand. With the development ofperceptual agricultural technology, the soil temperature monitoring system emerged bymeans of wireless sensor network technology. System uses the short distance wirelesscommunication standard ZigBee as a communication protocol, build a wirelesscommunication network,to support the temperature data communication between eachnode, complete sensor collected data forwarding, submit and processing. This can not onlyavoid the traditional cable transmission wiring complexity, difficult to detect faults andother problems, but also reduces the cost, making it easier to detect temperature.Firstly, the thesis analyses the background meaning and the current situation of thisissue in home and abroad. Based on the research of ZigBee technology, according to thefunctional requirements of the system, puts forward the design proposal of perceptualagricultural technology in the paddy soil temperature monitoring based on WSN. Thesystem consists of sensor node, router node, the coordinator node and monitoring systemfour parts, and on this basis made a node hardware component selection, including theselection of a microprocessor and temperature sensor. Finally, the four components of thesystem are explained in detail, describes the hardware design and process design of sensornode, router node and coordinator node, that is to make the CC2430radio frequencymicroprocessor as the core, adding DS18B20temperature sensor, CC2591power amplifiermodule, RS232serial interface module, JTAG interface module and power modules, etc.also each functional modules of monitoring system has been designed.Paddy soil temperature detected by the temperature sensors embedded in the paddysoil, then the detected temperature data sent to the router node, the router node send themto the coordinator, the coordinator node through the RS232serial interface sending data tothe monitoring system, so that the user can immediately query for information ontemperature, when the average temperature data exceed the standard, realize automaticwarning function.
