Wheat is the main food crops in the world, China’s second largest food crops, is an important raw material of flour and food processing industry. It’s growth is troubled, it can be said that it always faces the dangers from insect pests. The insect pest is one of the most important one each year in the world caused by pests agricultural losses estimated at about14%. In China, wheat midge has become one of the important factors affecting wheat production safety becomes major disaster in the wheat production problems.Occurrence of wheat midge related not only to wheat varieties, climate change, monitoring and early-warning technology lag and other factors, large area planting susceptible varieties is the fundamental cause of the large area. It must cause our enough attention. Therefore, effective use of resistant varieties planted is an important means of comprehensive control, sustainable development helps agriculture. This paper will introduce new varieties of resistance to wheat midge and its cultivation techniques, to accelerate the speed of its research and development, promote the industrialization of the pace of wheat production in the sustainable development of realistic and far-reaching significance. The test in the research group testing ground, the cross breeding of insect-resistant parents and fertility parents. Using the modified methods for identifying insect-resistant chose multiple available for breeding and utilization of both midge-resistant and high yield materials, at the same time, the corresponding supporting technology, make theoretical basis for its widespread application. The results show that, In the ecological zone under test conditions, Even in the year of the midge outbreak, plant insect-resistant varieties can effectively reduce the farmers’economic losses, also stable and high yield in normal year.
