To clarify the regulation of exogenous α-oxoglutarate on the growthstatus and nitrogen metabolism of wheat under low water potential and low nitrogenstress, and establish chemical regulation technology of resistance to these stresses ofwinter wheat, the experiment was performed using wheat variety ZhouMai22asmaterial, and was set under artificial climate chamber and field condition from2012to2013, studied the effects of exogenous5mmol·L-1α-oxoglutarate on nitrogenmetabolism of wheat seedling and yield traits of winter wheat under low waterpotential and low nitrogen stress. The study results were as follows:1Under low water potential, low nitrogen and the interaction stress biomass ofwheat seedling was lower than CK distinctly. After the treatment of α-oxoglutarate,falling range of the biomass were reduced distinctly. It suggested exogenousα-oxoglutarate could alleviate the growth of wheat seedling under low water potentialand low nitrogen stress.2Chlorophyll content of wheat seedling was lower than CK distinctly under lowwater potential, low nitrogen and the interaction stress. The falling range was biggestunter the interaction stress. After treatment of α-oxoglutarate, falling range of thechlorophyll content were reduced significantly. Total nitrogen content would bedecreased under low water potential, low nitrogen and the interaction stress, thefalling range of the interaction stress was highest. But the treatment of α-oxoglutaratecan increase the total nitrogen content, largest increase was still the interaction stresstreatment. Low water potential could increase soluble protein content, but lownitrogen stress and low water potential and nitrogen stress reduced soluble proteincontent. After treatment of α-oxoglutarate, all soluble protein content became higherthan CK significantly. The increase range of the interaction stress treatment washighest. Under low water potential treatment, nitric nitrogen of wheat seedlings madesomething increase, but made on significant difference. Under low nitrogen stress andthe interaction stress the nitric nitrogen of wheat seedlings decreased significantly. The change rule of ammonia nitrogen was in according with nitrate nitrogen. 3Under low water potential, low nitrogen and the interaction stress, activities ofNR became lower than CK, and the effect of the interaction stress was more obvious.Exogenous α-oxoglutarate alleviated the inhibitory of these stresses obviously, whichenhanced the activities of NR. Under low water potential treatment, GS、NADH-GDHactivities of wheat seeding enhanced significantly, but under low nitrogen stress andthe interaction stress the GS、NADH-GDH activities of wheat seeding weakenedsignificantly. After treatment of α-oxoglutarate, all GS、NADH-GDH activitiesenhanced significantly. These suggests that exogenous α-oxoglutarate could enhancethe NR、GS、NADH-GDH activities.4Exogenous5mmol·L-1α-oxoglutarate could increase dry matter accumulation, improve SPAD of the flag leaf of wheat, and retard the degradation of chlorophyll, improve total nitrogen content and translocation rate obviously, enhance the partialfactor production of applied nitrogen. After treatment of α-oxoglutarate rate ofsuperior and inferior grain filling in wheat increased, rate of superior grain filling waslarger than CK significantly. In the end, exogenous5mmol·L-1α-oxoglutarateincreased1000-kernel weight and yield of wheat.
