Korean pine is China’s important precious high quality timber and nuts economic forest tree species. Its cultivation is an important part of silviculture. However, Korean pine natural multi-stem phenomenon has always been a serious problem affecting the Korean pine silviculture. But the proper Korean pine multi-stem can increase the number of cones. According to the distribution of Korean pine in China area, selecting five pieces of typical Korean pine the in Caohekou, Lushuihe, Maoershan, Mengjiagang, Huayang to investigation, by setting fixed or temporary sample plot, random investigation method. The results indicate:1. For age of trees at26,41,64and hundreds of years in Korean pine forest, the multi-stem rate were48.33%,54.57%,64.42%,54.57%. Multi-stem effects are widespread and with the forest age increasing, the multi-stem rate is increasing; For the multi-stem trees, type proportion is relatively consistent laws, characterized by more than double multi-stem ratio> multiple multi-stem ratio> single multi-stem ratio, and the double multi-stem ratio has accounted for more than60%.2. Compared to the diameter and height show:the multi-stem tree average height is generally higher than no multi-stem tree (10%higher than that of the highest,4%higher than that of average), biggest gap between the average tree heights is0.58m. Be similar to effect of height, the multi-stem tree average diameter is generally bigger than no multi-stem tree (21%bigger than that of the biggest,14%bigger than that of average), the biggest difference more than2.75cm.Production in cones yield of the multi-stem tree accounted for69.4%of the total yield of cones, and only30.6%is the no multi-stem tree. In addition, the seed orchard10plot show that9plot of the multi-stem tree are higher than the no multi-stem tree, the highest cone yield by81%,29.5%higher than that of average.3. Of the three types of the multi-stem tree, multiple multi-stem type of Korean pine show the best branching height, tree height, DBH, cones yield advantage; Single multi-stem tree and no multi-stem tree are similar to the multi-stem height, tree height, diameter; Double multi-stem tree in the equilibrium data performance, but its number, cone yield and comprehensive data show the best level.4. The provenance of Korean pine multi-stem performance in terms of promoting Korean pine branching, the influence of the different provenance of Korean pine multi-stem appear time and found no too big differences branching height, etc. Provenance differences impact on the growth and strong performance in the growth of local tree species with the best yield state.5. The density of Korean pine at multi-stem, grows, yield correlation analysis showed that the multi-stem number and the quantity, no multi-stem tree, and the cone quantity with Korean pine density has a significant positive correlation (p<0.01); Average branching height, average DBH and crown length have significantly negative correlation with the density of Korean pine (p<0.01);Average branch high, high and average tree height has a significantly positive correlation (p<0.01);Average tree height and average tree diameter has a significantly positive correlation (p<0.05);Cone yield and density of Korean pine, cones yield in Korean pine density production rate shows that with the increase of the density of Korean pine is increased after the change trend of reducing.6. Korean pine multi-stem experiment show high gain in cones yield, and long-term adverse effect on performance in wood length poor growth and cone yield too; set experiment plot in order to achieve system and perfect multi-stem effect.7. Through the above of Korean pine multi-stems, put forward to multi-stem promoted, multi-stem suppression, multi-stem control this three kinds of measures, to provide direction of thinking of the Korean pine silviculture.
