Phosphorus (P) is one of an essential element for the growth of plant, and also it is avital factor of net primary productivity in mountain meadow system. A large amount of soilphosphorus acting as slowing forms, there was only a few portion of P could be absorbedby plant which acted as Olsen-P. Therefore, researching on spatial distribution ofphosphorus and phosphorus availability on mountain meadow systems can reveal thedistribution law of phosphorus; explore the effectiveness of regulation factors inphosphorus availability. Besides above, it can provide a theoretical and methodical basis inpostural management and also, it can offer a scientific guidance of restoration of degradedmeadow ecosystem.Mountain meadow ecosystem was extremely sensitive of human disturbance andclimate change. In view of the sensitivity, it plays an important role in the global changeand carbon cycle. Mountain meadow system of Wugong Mountain which sited in Jiangxiprovince has widely area and low altitudes (1600metres) characteristics; it’s very typicaland particular in vegetation vertical zone spectrum. Most of previous studies on WugongMountain concentrated in the geological structure and the conservation of biologicaldiversity, for the field of meadow spatial distribution of soil nutrients and effectiveness, especially on soil phosphorus has not been reported. For the reasons above, this research choose meadow ecosystem of Wugong Mountainas object, then setting a horizontal gradient every50meters along the different altitudes(1600-1900m) and using field sampling with chemical and biological laboratory analysismethods to analysis the content and distribution of various forms of phosphorus in soilsunder different elevation gradient, and the effect of soil acidity, soil microbial propertiesand phosphorus fractions on soil available phosphorus. In order to reveal the distribution ofphosphorus in Mountain meadow ecosystem and analyzes the factors affecting theeffectiveness of mountain meadow soil phosphorus so that it can provide a theoretical andmethodical basis in postural management and offer a scientific guidance of restoration ofdegraded meadow ecosystem.. The main findings are as follows:1. There was a vertical distribution law of soil phosphorus in Wugong Mountain. With the elevation gradually increased, the soil total phosphorus、available P、Al-P、Fe-P、O-P、Ca-P、organic P and microbial biomass P contents increased gradually. It has a character of surface gathering that with soil depth increasing, the P content decreased gradually.2. There were significantly positive correlations between soil available P and soiltotal P、water soluble P、Al-P、organic P and microbial biomass P.3. Soil acidity was an important factor to soil phosphorus availability in mountainmeadow system of Wugong Mountain. The soil total hydrolytic acidity andsoil exchangeable acidity depths have significant difference along altitudes, thesoil acidity has a positive correlation with soil P.4. Soil microbial properties are a vital factor to soil P availability. For the research ofsoil microbial properties: there was a vertical distribution law in soilphosphates、P transformation、PSMs and total amount of PLFAs. With theelevation gradually increased, the amount of bacteria increased and fungidecreased respectively. The soil phosphates、P transformation、PSMs、 totalamount of PLFAs and amount of bacteria were significantly positive correlatedwith soil available P and the amount of fungi has a significant negativecorrelation with available P.
