Sustainable Development Research On Water-saving Irrigation Of Datong City

Datong is a resource-based city, water deficiencies, however, agricultural irrigation is the first major water users, accounting for70%of total water of Datong. Shortage of water resources to the city’s agricultural development and farmers to bring a very negative impact. Develop water-saving agriculture is not only solve the water crisis of Datong, but also achieve agricultural modernization, therefore, water-saving agriculture is a necessary step. It is very important for protecting the city’s food production and sustained and stable development of the national economy, and it has a great significance for the adjustment of agricultural structure and increase farmers’ income. This paper discusses in detail at this stage Datong severe water shortage, and made a great efforts to develop water-saving agriculture is the Datong area of sustainable economic development needs. A main issues and countermeasure were raised of restricting the development of water-saving agriculture in Datong.
