Agriculture is the foundation of the national economy, and cultivated land is the foundation of agriculture. Protecting the cultivated land and improve the quality of cultivated land will become the fundamental agricultural development. Now the situation of land resources in our country is that only1.35mu per capita arable land, less than half of the world’s level. In the case of arable land, the growing contradiction between supply and demand, measures of reasonable protection and utilization of arable land must be taken, because the measures related to the sustainable development of the national economy and our social progress. The second national soil survey for30years so far, as the change of the times, quantity and quality of the rural land in our country, especially in cultivated land have changed a lot. Our country is facing an urgent task is that new and scientific cultivated land quality evaluation work should be carried out.Study on19countries and cities of cultivated of Shanxi province in the south in this paper (including the dry land and irrigated land). Comprehensive considering the wheat and corn growth habits to select evaluation index, more significantly distinguish between cultivated land quality level differences in the study areas, which is based on AHP, SPSS and GIS, to study the quality of cultivated land in wheat and corn multiple cropping area in Shanxi province in the south, related research results are as follows:(1) Different from the small scale of cultivated land quality evaluation study of the county, this paper set up the large-scale evaluation system, considering the regional index as evaluation factors. By selecting four indicators nine factors-soil physical conditions, climatic conditions, physical and chemical properties, soil management, and establishing a large scale evaluation system. The results showed that the cause of cultivated land quality significant differences in the study area mainly for water supply and is given priority to with slope elevation difference of site conditions.(2) Spatial overlay analysis of accumulated temperature, slope and other data, the results show that, farmland productivity level with slope and accumulated temperature change showed certain regularity: accumulated temperature of high slope and slow area of cultivated land level is high, the accumulated temperature is low and slope of large area of cultivated land level is relatively low.(3) Area of cultivated land with medium or high quality accounts for30.10%of cultivated land in study area, which is mainly concentrated in Sushui River downstream and Fenhe River downstream. Farmland grading with three or four accounts for44.39%in study area, which is the most common regional cultivated land quality grade distribution in the study area, and distributed evenly, give priority to with the central mountain foothills. Farmland grading with five or six accounts for22.51%in study area, with the minimum percentage and distribution is relatively uniform. Mainly distributed in the Huoyan Mountain region in the northwest, Zhongtiao Mountain region in the east and Gufeng Mountain region in the west.(4) This research result to be more in region distribution of farmland productivity grade, which can provide certain guidance for reasonable fertilization divisions in the study area.
