In order to study sequence characteristics of Fibroblast growth factor(FGF18)and its expression in uterus, specific primers were designed on the basis ofconservative FGF18from5’ to3’ in cattle in this study, the sequence of FGF18genewas assessed and its bioinformatics was analysed, and its expression in pregnancy andnon-pregnancy was detected in uterus of Bos grunniens by quantitative real-timePolymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Results show that the coding region of Bosgrunniens FGF18gene is624bp in length, encoding207amino acids in which thelysine is highest, about9.7%. According to homology analysis, it found that thesimilarity of FGF18in Bos taurus was up to99.7%, which means that FGF18gene isconservative in evolution. The main function of amino acid sequence is Stressresponse and Immune response. The FGF18gene has the same domain with IL-1, andtypical signal peptides is very typical. The result of the qRT-PCR shows that theexpression of FGF18gene in pregnancy is24.7times height of non-pregnancy inuterus of Bos grunniens, which suggested FGF18play an important role indevelopment.The expression in follicular phase oviduct is highest, and the second isluteal phase Oviduct; The expression of Bos grunniens FGF18in Luteal phase Ovaryis higher than its expression in follicular phase ovary. The fact is that in Luteal phase,progesterone is Secreted from luteal,inhibit the development of follicles. whetherthe reason about the result is relate to this fact or not,its need further study.
