The burst, diversions, change, alluvial of Yellow River lower reaches, created a large erodibility dunes, hills, ridges, alluvial fan, under the influence of wind and human activity, it has formed a large-scale Sandstorm Land, hazards of sand storms are outstanding. The governance demand of sandstorm area is very urgent. But for a long time, the wind and sand erosion land issues of yellow flood plain sandstorm area has not cause enough attentio n in Henan. Today, the definition of yellow flood plain sandstorm area still lack sufficient basis and data support. For shifting of erodibility land still lacks related research present situation and change.Therefore,in this paper, using the written reco rds on vicissitudes of the downstream channel of the Yellow River-way, the ancient River-way maps and other scholar’s related research results, the River-way burst in various periods, the change process and characteristics have been systematically integrated. Combined with its impact on downstream plains landform, the characteristics of the Yellow flood plain sandstorm are defined, and range of the area is studied. With remote sensing image of TM, ALOS as data source, the land use data are contrast analysis, and the present situation, dynamic change characteristics of yellow flood plain sandstorm in Henan are systematically analyzed and researched.According to the results:(1)The causes of Henan Yellow River flood plain sand area are historical causes, natural causes and human influence. All previous burst diversions of the lower Yellow River formed easily erodible soil underlying surface, resulting in the deficiency of regional soil conditions, poor resistance to corrosion. Besides, the dry season and wind speed is consistent on time sequence to make the wind erosion easily. What’s more, the high density of population and high intensity human activities also further accelera te blown sand.(2)On the basis of defining principles, 36 counties of Kaifeng, Shangqiu, Zhengzhou,Jiaozuo, Hebi, Puyang, Xinxiang, Anyang are classified as yellow flood plain sandstorm area in Henan. The total area is 37200 km2, accounting for 22.28% of Henan province.(3)It’s the dry land that’s vulnerable to wind erosion in the yellow flood plain sandstorm area.In 1990, dry land mainly located in Yongcheng, Kaifeng, Zhongmou, Huaxian, Shangqiu, Yuanyang, Yucheng, Xiayi, Puyang, Neihuang, Changyuan, Xinzheng, Weishi, Tuocheng, Wuzhi, Fengqiu.In 2000, dry land mainly located in Yongcheng, Huaxian, Yanjin, Kaifeng, C hangyuan, Xiayi, Q ixian, Zhongmou, Lankao, Tongxu, Neihuang, N inglin, Weishi.In 2010, dry land mainly located in Neihuang, C hangyuan, Kaifeng, Zhongmou, Fengqiu, Qingfeng, Weihui, YanJin, Huaxian, Wuzhi, Jun county, Hualong district of Puyang city.(4)Comprehensive analysis sandy soil composition, soil type, soil texture, Soil particle size composition,aeolian sands erodibility, cohesive property ies of soil in henan yellow flood plain, there are 9 types of easy corrosion soil in Henan yellow flood plain sandstorm area, such as loamy fluvo-aquic soil, loamy silt fluvo-aquic soil, sandy silt fluvo-aquic soil, sandy fluvo-aquic soils, sandy off fluvo-aquic soil, sandy chloride saline fluvo-aquic soil, fixed meadow aeolian soil, semi- fixed meadow aeolian soil, distributed in the entire study area.(5)The erodible land of yellow flood plain sandstorm area in Henan province is defined as the dry land with erodible topsoil.In 1990, the area of wind-drift sand land is 11858.75km2, accounts for 31.84% of research region area, 37.45% of the total cultiva ted area, 67.79% of the total dryland area.There are mainly distributed in Zhongmou, Kaifeng, Huxian, Yuanyang, northern and center of Neihuang, Changyuan, western Weishi, Yucheng, Xiayi.In 2000, the area of wind-drift sand land is7468.11km2, accounts for 20.05% of research region area, 25.32% of the total cultivated area, 73.56% of the total dryland area.There are mainly distributed in Huaxian, Yanjin,Kaifeng, northern Yongcheng, Changyuan, northeastern and center of Qxian, center of Zhongmou, western and northern of Lankao, northeastern and southern of Tongxu, northwestern and southern of Xiayi, sorthwestern and center of Neihuang.In 2010, the area of wind-drift sand land is 2359.58km2, accounts for 6.34% of research region area, 8.98% of the total cultivated area, 71.38% of the total dryland area.There are mainly distributed in Neihuang, southeastern C hangyuan, northwestern Kaifeng, center of Zhongmou, northwestern Q ingfeng, eastern Fengqiu, Hua county, Yanjin, Puyang.
