Cotton is not only the strategic material with regard to the people’s livelihood, but also the production occupying an important position in China. In addition, the cotton is an important economic crop and the one of the main agricultural commodities and the money of farmers and local government almost is derived from the cotton production. However, spraying machinery is the most weak part in the agricultural plant protection machinery. At present, the manual knapsack sprayer is the mainly spraying way. As we all know, the original sprayer and spraying methods can cause many questions such as low work efficience, high labor intensity, low protection action and environment pollution. In particularly, the society ask for continuous improvement of the status of environmental protection. It is eager to have a new cotton spraying machinery of low volume spray, spray finishing, less pollution and high efficiency.A cotton mist machine self-propelled high clearance universal frame as the foundation is designed in this paper, according to the present problems of behindhand pesticide application technology, low pesticide utilization ratio, operation efficiency and serious environment pollution. The cotton machine’power is diesel engine. The turning, the whole machine liquid pump and centrifugal blower work is driven by the hydraulic control system except machine straight walking. At the same time, contraposition type centrifugal fan structure is designed, and two fan air outlet are respectively through deformation of interface. In order to get more powerful air flow, the two air conveying pipe are respectively connected with the two fold, and the other end of the air transmission pipe are respectively connected with the two ends of the fold with a PVC tube. The six air outlets are even distributed on the PVC tube. A wind conveying pipe is connected with an outlet of the fold. A wind conveying pipe is connected with the other end of the fold duck bill outlet. The liquid medicine spraying out is a two time atomization air flow formation of finer droplets in order to realize multi nozzle type mist spray, six lines of a complete homework. According to the unequal cotton planting spacing and different growth periods of height and canopy thickness, we have designed a device for air inlet and nozzle adjustable in height, width and angle direction. The machine has improved the uniform distribution loading and droplet pesticide, reduced the medicine drift loss and protected the ecological environment.The main content of the research include:confirm the system solution of cotton field directional mist sprayer, including type selection and design of cotton self-propelled high clearance universal frame, hydraulic control system, centrifugal fan and multiple air conveying system, high pressure type selection, adjustment of multi degree of freedom air inlet and nozzle orientation mist device such as the duck mouth outlet. Firstly, design and assembly the complete machine through the three-dimensional drawing software PROE; then use the CAXA and AutoCAD to draw two-dimensional drawings, use the CFD software FLUENT to simulation internal flow field of the designed contraposition type centrifugal fan, choose the best design solution based on the simulation of air outlet velocity.On the basis of theoretical analysis and design, complete the prototype trial-production and performance test. The test results show that:when there was air-conveying than no air-conveying, the droplet deposition increased 59.74%, the variation coefficient was reduced by 43.96%, the air-conveying effect was obvious and compared with ordinary spray, directional spray droplets number increased by 43.21%, the variation coefficient was reduced by 54.62%, the design of multi degree of freedom air outlet and the spray head adjusting device were reasonable, orientation spray effect is good; foliar liquid adhesion rate was 63.24%, biaxial leaf liquid adhesive rate was 48.96%, more than GB/T17997-2008 ((Pesticide sprayer (device) liquid field operation rules and spraying quality assessment)) and other national standards requirements in crop coverage rate which ruled not less than 39%, proved that prototype solution had good adhesion liquid. When there was no air-conveying, droplet average diameter was 121μm, DR value was 0.69; when there was air-conveying, droplet average diameter was 86μm, DR value was 0.76; when there was air-conveying than there was no air-conveying, droplet uniformity DR increased by 9.2%, the uniformity was obviously improved.
