Steviol glycoside is a new natural sweetener and it is been extracte from the leaves of stevia rebaudiana which belongs to Composite plants. It has unique properties of high sweetness and low calorie. The sweetness of it is 300 times than cane sugar, but only 1/300 calorie. It is known as "the third source of sugar in the world".China is the world’s largest grower of stevia, especially the City of Mingguang in AnhuiProvince.Currently, stevia plant production by the Anhui, Jiangsu and other places to the north.Stevia originated in subtropical Paraguay, a more appropriate with subtropical in Anhui,and Jiangsu.Stevia northward through the South and interior nursery seedling nursery basically solved the problem, but the production of stevia seedling and adult stages of hypothermia direct impact on the production of stevia north yield and quality, so the production of Stevia is already solved our widely planted. Stevia varieties used on the production of cold resistance in urgent need of anti-cold resistance of new varieties of stevia good question. The major results were as follows:1. The dry seeds of Shoutian 2 were managed by Heavy ion irradiation. Carbon 12C6+initial energy ion beam energy for 20 MeV per, LET a value of 93 KeV/μ, dose respectively 60,80 Gy and rate of 10 Gy/min.The effects of Stevia by heavy ions:Survival stevia seeds 60,80 Gy of irradiation breeding exposure dose were 42% and 33%.2. The screening of Stevia plant for heavy ion irradiation cold:The testing of plant growth and physiological indicators as the basis. The result showed that, at low temperatures C80-1 and C80-3 grow better with higher antioxidant activity and restore growth and have higher survival rates. Therefore, comprehensive evaluation to determine C80-1 and C80-3 has good resistance to cold.3. By measuring near-infrared spectroscopy model of stevia leaves fresh, high sugar content of the two groups get cold stevia strain.The high sugar content of two strains of stevia resistance strain RA and St content being 30% and 22% higher than CK Shoutian 2.4. Further heavy ions of cold, high yield, high quality stevia mutant lines were identified. Antianju 4 was registered by non-main crop identification and registration committee in Anhui Province. New strain 07--800--5 had average yield of 222 kg,being 13% higher than CK Shoutian 2. Total glycosides content of 13.3%, RA/ total glucosinolate content of 75.5%, being 8.6% higher than CK Shoutian 2(66.9%). This research provides a new varieties stevia for cold resistance, high yield, high quality.
