A large number of progenies with segregated characteristics were obtained derived from the artificial crossing of ‘Hemerocallis fulva Stella D’oro’ and ‘Hemerocallis fulva Pardon Me’. After nearly two years selection, more than three hundred offspring strains were obtained. Breeding new strains for widely used in landscaping with Strange color, early flowering,long-green period and healthy plants was the ultimate goal of this study.A systematic research about Phenology, morphology, karyotypes were given on the lines whose phenotypic traits were basically stable.The mainly analysis were variation degree, variation source and karyotype parameters among all materials. The main results were as follows:1 Judging from the florescence, the variation of florescence is not obviously.Only the florescence of 4-1-2,1-9-4,4-1-5,5-3-3 has been extended.Some qualitative traits of character appeared the separation phenomenon,including leaf color,flower color,flower type,and flower color mode.Through screening,breeding some new strains,for example,the dark green strains of 1-11-1 and 4-1-5,the star-shaped flower of 1-7-6 and 1-9-4,the different flower color of flesh pink,orange-red,orange and lemon yellow,the different flower color mode of complex color,multicolor,double color.2 The coefficient of variation of 14 quantitative characters from large to small were: number of inflorescence > inflorescence diameter > leaf number > leaf blade width >Inflorescence length>plant canopy>scape height>scape diameter>leaf blade length>petal width>plant height>sepal width>flower diameter>scape number per plant.3 The results of the correlation analysis showed:Plant canopy and leaf number,leaf length have very significant positive correlation.Leaf length has a Very significant positive correlated to the leaf width.It has a very significant positive correlation between the inflorescence length, the inflorescence diameter and the number of inflorescence.Scape height has a very significant positive correlated to the scape diameter,Inflorescence length,the number of inflorescence.The petal width associated with the sepal width.The flower diameter associated with the petal width.So it showed that the petals width is the determinant of the flower diameter.4 The 13 number of characters was divided into Inflorescence traits, leaf traits, scapes traits, flower traits and plant traits, and the variance contribution rate were 49.905%,12.717%,10.683%,8.045%,10.683%.Its cumulative contribution rate reached 86.215%,which can basically reflect the genetic traits of 13 quantitative traits.According to the load value size of each principal component factors,selecting the main character which play the decisive role,including Inflorescence length,number of inflorescence,leaf blade width,scape diameter,sepal width,petal width,plant height.5 Based on the score evaluation of the different traits factor,it showed that 4-1-2 gained the highest score among all the strains,and then was ‘Hemerocallis fulva Pardon Me’,5-3-3,2-1-4,2-4-1.The last five strains were 1-11-2,2-3-5,1-5-2,4-1-5,1-1-3,whose comprehensive characteristic was the poor performance.The inflorescence traits of 4-1-2 gained the highest score,the leaf traits of 5-3-3 gained the best score,the highest score of scapes traits was 1-5-2,the best score of flower traits was 4-1-2,the plant traits of 1-7-6 gained the highest score.6 Though identificating the chromosome karyotype of the parents and its hybrids,The results shows:The chromosome karyotypes of ‘Hemerocallis fulva Stella D’oro’ and ‘Hemerocallis fulva Pardon Me’ are 2n=2x=22=18m+4sm,2n=2x=22=2M+12m+8sm.The Chromosome number of the hybrid offspring are all 22.Relative length,the ratio of the longest and shortest chromosome, arm ratio and average median arm ratio tend to be their parents..The chromosome types of ‘Hemerocallis fulva Stella D’oro’ and ‘Hemerocallis fulva Pardon Me’ are 2B, hybrids appeared 1B,2A,3B,The karyotype asymmetry coefficient from high to low in the order was 2-4-1,1-11-1,1-1-2,1-11-2,1-1-3,4-2-2,1-7-6,4-1-2,5-3-3,4-1-5,1-8-6,1-9-4,2-1-4,2-3-5,1-5-2,which illustrated that hybrids have a certain degree of evolution.
