In China, the relatively study and exploration of pesticide application technology start late. About 1.3 million tons of pesticides are used to protection but more than about 60%are wasted. A large number of pesticides lost into the soil and groundwater, causing environmental pollution, and even produce toxic effects to application person directly. Boom sprayer is one of the most commonly used plant protection machinery, its high operating efficiency, good spray quality, plays a huge role in China’s vast areas of dry-field farming. In this paper, active control and target spray technology are studied especially for airflow-assisted boom sprayer.Operating environment parameters for dense crop canopy (such as wheat and cotton, etc.), airflow-assisted boom sprayer using active control systems, systems based on perceived (wind direction and speed, temperature and nozzle from the plant canopy height and implement walking speed), real-time active control optimum air-assisted sprayer operating parameters (spray height, wind speed auxiliary duct, spray volume, etc.), to achieve optimal droplet deposition effects on plant foliage, increase spraying accuracy improve the utilization of pesticides, minimizes pollution of pesticides on the environment.For some field crops at plants with greater spacing, designed target spraying system for boom sprayer. To carry out the technology to boom sprayer nozzle to reach the top of the crop canopy spray, void space between two adjacent crops, spraying is stopped. To achieve the accuracy of the administration, it is possible to save pesticides and reduce pesticide pollution of soils. The main contents are as follows:(1) Designed an active control system for the airflow-assisted boom sprayer, it detects the field operating environment parameters by spraying effect sensors, and then the simulation and experimental results of the control strategy, airflow-assisted boom sprayer spray machine parameters adjusted to obtain optimum spray effect.(2) Designed a target spray system for the large distance between plants, the system uses an ultrasonic distance sensor to capture the boom this difference of the two signals is removed by the boom generated by the vibration noise signal, draw the line sensor for more accurate signal, the analysis on the feature, and then determine the location of the plant, carried out on the target spray.
