In order to solve the problems such as the low uniformity of the irrigation, the complex structure of the pressure compensated emitter, the large deviation coefficient and the poor anti- blocking performance of the pressure compensated emitter in mountainous region, this paper explore the pressure compensating emitter’s structure, and one of pressure compensated emitter’s is designed. The emitter’s design is based on Pro-E., rapid prototyping technology, and the test of hydraulic performance. And, test the hydraulic performance of these emitters using the hydraulic trail and the short cycle an-clogging trail. Based on this, a kind structure of emitter was developed. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)For the emitter without passageway, its hydraulic performance is good. The hydraulic parameter of this emitter with average flow is 6 L/h, 60-240 k Pa pressure compensating range and 0.04 flow index. The Cv of this emitter without passageway is less than 0.07 in its pressure compensating range, and meet the requirements of the specification. So this structure of emitter can prove the emitter’s Cv.(2)The emitter without passageway is plugged up in the eighth stage through the short cycle an-clogging trail. So it is not meet the requirements of the specification. We break up the clogging emitter, and we found that the clogging position is the minimum crossing section.(3)The best combination for emitter with improved passageway is the gasket with a 30° of gasket hardness, 1mm in the height of passageway and a 0mm-height foundation.(4) The hydraulic parameter of this emitter with average flow is 22.52 L/h. 80-320 k Pa pressure compensating range, 18.37 flow coefficient and 0.07 flow index.(5) The Cv of this emitter with improved passageway is less than 0.07 in its pressure compensating range, and meet the requirements of the specification. So this structure of emitter can prove the emitter’s Cv. On the other hand, It’s flow is more than 0.75 through the short cycle an-clogging trail, and meet the requirements of the specification.(6)For the emitter with improved passageway, the height of foundation have notable effect on the hydraulic performance emitter’s flow index. The hardness of gasket and the height of passageway have effect on the hydraulic performance emitter’s flow index, flow and pressure compensating range. According to this conclusion, we should pay attention to the effect of gasket’s hardness, thickness and the height of foundation when we design emitter.
