| Baby carrot was called fruit carrots or mini carrots. Its miracle was slender. It has higher nutritional value thanDaucus carota L.It has 3-4 times β-carotene of Daucus carota L., and it was sweet and crisp, crude fiber, taste good and convenient to eat,comparing with Daucus carota L..But the baby carrot is still in initial stage in China, the market demand must be increasing in future. The new breeding techniques also was lagging behind. This study of cultivation for four years, the cultivation technology of system from the new cultivation mode, carrot seed, greenhouse cultivation, carry out the new fruit of carrot.In the spring and autumn’ tests,5 varieties and 32 cultivars were selected, respectively. The varieties were Mokun, Sugarsnax54, Rebecca,10H63, mini 8,80H16,90H49, Hui He008. In mechanization ridge cultivation demonstration, the average leaf length was 31.4 cm, significantly shorter than that of the ordinary carrot varieties, average root length was about 18cm, diameter 2.2cm, commodity rate above 80.6%, the average single fruit weight of 56.6 g, β-carotene content of 126mg/kg, sugar content of 5.15%, equivalent to 3490 kg per 667m2.The demonstration effect was good, suitable for application.New purple carrot varieties was too popular in China market. Yi Shan Hong 3 were erect, purple green leaves, and it has 8 functional leaves, average leaf length 71.9cm, leaf width 20.3cm, fleshy root purple, oblong conical, smooth skin,without root tip blunt, average root length 27.5cm, diameter 3.5 cm, the pith of round purple, fleshy root crisp, tasted freshly, strong resistance, resistance to bolting. Its yield reached 3000 kg per mu. In 43 new purple strains tested, 5 varieties performed best,and heart column was orange red, fleshy root was cylindrical partial cone type, apex blunt or sharp, root shoulder rounded, prominent among them 3 strains 12H110, 12H111,12H112, which were skin deep purple, fleshy root inside purple deep, high anthocyanin content, fleshy root length, length 22-30cm, diameter 3-4cm, good consistency, surface smoothness high, yield reched 3000-3500kg,per 667m2.The highest commodity production of baby carrots in planting density of 80,000zhu/667m2 reached to 2792.8kg/667m2. The highest yield commercial rate of baby carrots and ordinary carrots were in ridge and furrow cultivation. But,the smoothness and commodity rate reduced in ridge, furrow cultivation, small furrow cultivation, wide flat cultivation. Baby carrot was of 5 times weaker than the control, but disease resistance superior to the control.The results showed that root length of Sugarsnax54, Rebecca, Mokum was decreased, the Sugarsnax54 reached 21.7cm; the highest commodity rate was 85.7% in Rebecca, B-carotene content of Sugarsnax54,Mokum, Rebecca were increased. Total sugar content was below 5%,significantly lower than the autumn cultivation, taste was relatively poor; Mokum, yield of Sugarsnax54, Beka were increased, the yield difference was significant.The results indicated that:the control efficiency of using 33% pendimethalin was satisfactory in controlling the annual grass and broadleaf weeds,reaching 92.2%,65.4%, respectively.The effect of prometryne WP and 48% trifluralin EC for the annual grassy weeds above 70%, but the effect of annual broadleaf weed was poor, only about 40%. |
