| In this experiment,10 kinds of eggplant cultivars were treated with NaCl by water salinity 0,30,60,90,120,150,180mmol/L respectively. After observation and analysis on its germination period rate, potential, index, seed length and of salt damage ratein the germination period stage; as well as chlorophyll content, proline content, MDA content, relative electric conductivity and POD biologically active input in the seedling stage, salt-tolerant eggplant screened out by comparing varieties eggplant’s salt tolerance. Test results are as follows:1. When subjected to salt stress in the germination period stage, there are differences on effects of different salinity in salt solution. The average germination period rate is 88.90, 87.13,91.13,81.67,81.07,68.88,50.20(%); potential is 43.80,42.61,42.80,26.27,26.20, 17.13,8.13(%); index is 5.45,5.61,5.32,4.54,4.11,3.37,2.31; seed length and of salt damage rate is 68.54,75.20,64.56,51.43,36.57,25.49,13.12(mm) and -3.67,-4.67,0.70, 5.77,18.23,41.90(%) respectively by using 0,30,60,90,120,150,180mmol/L salinity of the 10 test material. As seen from the data, the maximum (minimum) value of the index corresponding to the salinity were 60,0,30,30,30mmol/L. Cluster analysis was adopted on five indicators’comprehensive subordinate function values in the germination period stage. When taking the average cluster distance threshold 0.23, the tested eggplant varieties can be divided into three groups. The first category is tolerant varieties, including Purple long eggplant Ⅱ, Baixuegongzhu and Yuhanglvchangqie; the second group is middle-tolerant varieties, including Sanyuezaoqie, Lixiangtezaoqie, Zihongqie and Heilichangqie; while the third category is intolerant varieties, including Jinshenglvza, Sijiheiqie and Xi’anlvqie.2. Physiological indicators change accordingly when the eggplant subjected to salt stress in the seedling stage.10 test material performance indicators are as follows:average chlorophyll content is 0.64,0.71,0.69,0.57,0.49,0.45,0.37 (mg/g-FW); average proline content is 25.87,34.70,50.09,74.37,97.21,118.15,180.51(ug/g-FW); average MDA content is 0.29,0.44,0.61,0.72,0.92,1.08,1.39(umol/g-FW); average relative electric conductivity is 0.66,0.75,0.80,0.84,0.8% 0.92,0.94; and average POD biologically activity is 0.49,0.49,0.50,0.40,0.29,0.26,0.20[Abs/(min-g)]. As seen from the data, the maximum (minimum) value of the index corresponding to the salinity were 60,0,30,30, 30mmol/L.Cluster analysis was also adopted on five indicators’ comprehensive subordinate function values in the seedling stage. The first category is tolerant varieties, including Purple long eggplant II, Sijiheiqie and Yuhanglvchangqie; the second group is middle-tolerant varieties, including Jinshenglvza, Lixiangtezaoqie, Xi’anlvqie, Heilichangqie and Zihongqie; while the third category is intolerant varieties, including Sanyuezaoqie, Baixuegongzhu.3. Although salt tolerance is different in the germination period and seedling stage, there are still has some ties. From the perspective of two periods’cluster analysis, results are as follows. Purple eggplant II and Yuhanglvchangqie are relatively salt tolerant in the two periods; Zihongqie, Lixiangtezaoqie and Heilichangqie are moderate salt tolerant. However, salt tolerance between Baixuegongzhu and Sijiheiqie are relatively large. Baixuegongzhu belongs to the salt tolerance class in the germination period stage, but in the seedling stage, its salt tolerance showed worst of the 10 varieties. In the germination period stage, Sijiheiqie belongs to intolerant, but at the seedling stage, its salt tolerance is just behind Purple long eggplant II. For the reason that the strength of eggplant salt tolerance during germination period and seedling period is significantly different, screening salt eggplant only at a certain stage of growth as the basis is one-sided. At the same time, test also showed that low salinity of salt stress (≦ 90mmol/L) can promote seed germination period and seedling growth, and a high salinity of salt stress (> 90mmol/L) could be the inhibition of seed germination period and seedling growth to some extent. The conclusions are based only on the test data analysis of eggplant germination period and seedling in the indoor environment.There are some limitations.Results need to be further verified the applicability by the follow-up period of growth as well as field trials. |
