Chloris virgata is a perennial tuft herbaceous species of Gramineae that has some biological characters such as the tolerance of alkali-saline and aridity.Because it is soft grass and better palatability to feed animals,so it was highly value to feed,which is one of the pioneer plant for improvement of saline-alkalized grassland.In this paper, single in dependent tuft clones of upright form and curving form of Chloris virgata population were sampled by the method of big sample at dough stage in year of 2013 and at milking stage and dough stage in year of 2014. the quanaltity characters of modules and the relationship between quanaltity characters of modules and size,and between quantity characters of modules and total number and biomass of clones were quantitatively analyzed on different growth forms of Chloris virgata in alkali spot in the Songnen Plains of China. The research showed the same or differences of phenotypic plasticity and regularity on the Chloris virgata clones during different growth forms, and different years, and different stages to provide the theoretical basis for further research of clonal plant population.The Specific results were as follow:The quantitative characters of all modules had some differences on different forms of Chloris virgata Clones,and the phenotypic plasticity of modules were almost same.Among them, the number and biomass of vegetative tillers had small phenotypic plasticity,and the differences of them were not significant,other quantitatiy characters of modules had big phenotypic plasticity,they were the size and number and biomass of reproductive tillers, and total numbers and total biomass of clones,and spike biomass,and reproductive allocation,and reproductive growth rate,the differences of them reached significant levels, and on curving form was higher than the one on upright form.(2)The modules of different forms of Chloris virgata clones had phenotypic plasticity in different years.The differences of numbers of vegetative tillers and second ramets were significant,and the differences of number and biomass of reproductive tillers and spike biomass were not significant on upright form of Chloris virgata.and the biggest plasticity was the biomass of second ramets in different years;The differences of total numbers of modules and biomass of second ramets were not significant on cuving form of Chloris virgata,and the biggest plasticity was the number of second ramets in different years;(3)There was a regular change of linear function or power function about the relationship between the numbers or biomass of modules and the clonal size of two growth forms in Chloris virgata clones,and samples reached significant levels or extremely significant levels except second ramets on upright form of Chloris virgata clones in 2014(4)The relationship between the numbers or biomass of modules and total numbers of clones was an extremely significantly positive correlation on two forms of Chloris virgata clones,except second ramets on upright form of Chloris virgata clones in 2014.Among them,the numbers of vegetative tillers and the biomass of reproductive tillers on upright formof Chloris virgata clones at milking stage,and the numbers of vegetative tillers and reproductive tiller on curving form of Chloris virgata clones at dough stage increased powerly with total numbers of clones in a regular change,and other samples increased linearly with total numbers of clones in a regular change.(5)The relationship between the numbers and biomass of modules and total numbers of clones was an extremely significantly or significantly positive correlation on two forms of Chloris virgata clones,except second ramets on upright form of Chloris virgata clones and vegetative tillers on curving form of Chloris virgata clones in 2014.Among them, the numbers of reproductive tillers on curving form of Chloris virgata clones in 2013 and the biomass of vegetative tillers on curving form of Chloris virgata clones in 2014 increased powerly with total biomass of clones in a regular change, other samples increased linearly with total numbers of clones in a regular change.(6)There was a similar regularity about the growth of reproductive tillers on two growth forms of Chloris virgata clones,Among them, spike biomass increased powerly with height of reproductive tillers,but reproductive growth rate reduced powerly with height of reproductive tillers.There were differences of the production and distribution of reproductive tillers.Among them,There was a significantly Linear function.between spike biomass and height of reproductive tillers,different growth forms of Chloris virgata had the same growth regularity at the same stage.There was a significantly positive correlation between spike biomass and biomass of reproductive tillers,different growth forms of Chloris virgata had different growth regularity at the same stage.There was no significantly correlation between reproductive and tiller height,between and tiller biomass.
