Drying is an important application technology in the life and production of human society. Mathematical simulation method could study the drying process inside drying material. It can complete the investigation and studying, which is difficult to obtain in experiments and reduce the cost and time in studying. It provides a theoretical basis for the development of drying technology. Recently the simulation study based on three-dimensional solid model is an international research focus in dying study field. In this paper, the corn kernel is chosen as the drying object. The simulation of hot air drying based on three-dimensional solid model is processedThe CT is firstly used to scan corn kernel and the three-dimensional solid model of corn kernel is reconstructed by medical image processing techniques. This paper has completed in turn single image extraction, surface reconstruction, materialization and so on, and established three-dimensional corn kernel model with solid characteristics by using MIMICS and ANSYS software. The images of drying object are obtained easily and the reconstructed method is simple.This paper has established the heat and mass transfer of the three-dimensional drying mathematical model and used the Fourier heat transfer equation and the Fick second diffusion law as the governing equations. The thermal transfer coefficient, surface heat transfer coefficient, diffusion coefficient, and surface mass transfer coefficient are the function coupled with heat and mass transfer. The simulation of heat and mass transfer model is processed by COMSOL Multiphysics and has obtained the changing laws of temperature field and humidity field inside corn kernel. The result of the three-dimensional model is compared with the results of experiment and the results of the two-dimensional model. The three-dimensional model was proved to be practicality and superiority.The internal three-dimensional stress mathematical model is established based on the knowledge of elastic mechanics, material mechanics and viscoelasticity mechanics. The simulation calculation of thermal stress, wet stress and total stress is processed by COMSOL Multiphysics based on the heat and mass transfer simulation. The internal stress value, stress distribution and the causes of stress are discussed.The three dimensional drying model is used to simulate the influences of drying parameters while the drying conditions, hot air temperature, dry material initial moisture content and air speed are changed respectively. The influences of changing drying conditions are discussed.The energy consumption formula is deduced to analyze the influences on energy consumption while changing the drying conditions. It provided the theoretical basis and reference for drying.
