Biological characters of Trichoderma gamsii, and the antagonism effect to two pathogens ofRhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum as well as the control effect to vicia faba root rot fromdifferent microbial inoculums were studied in this paper, key results as follows:1. Trichoderma sp was isolated and purified with selective medium from soil samples collected fromthe Xinjiang Agricultural University experiment station of cotton verticillium&fusarium wilt in Urumqi aswell as vegetable base in Sanping farm. Where after the antagonism effect was detected to two pathogensof Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum, and compared with TJX7strains isolated from Nancang inJiangxi province and Trichoderma harzianum T22strain from the product of KOPPERT B.V. Holland. Results suggested that,4strains of Trichoderma sp were isolated, and was identified by the methods ofmorphological investigation and ITS sequencing, TXJ-1B was identified as Trichoderma gamsii, TXJ9as T.virens, and TXJ1and TXJ-11D as T. citrinoviride. Results show that, the effect of the strain Trichodermagamsii TXJ-1B to Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum were87.32%and93.33%at120h,respectively. In the comparison of the antagonism effect to Rhizoctonia solani, there are nosignificant (P<0.05) differences between the strain Trichoderma gamsii TXJ-1B and Trichodermaharzianum T22; whereas the differences of the antagonism effect are significant (P<0.05) to Fusariumoxysporum to compare with other different Trichoderma sp., It indicated that the Trichoderma gamsiiTXJ-1B strains showed high potential in the bio-control study against cotton diseases.2. Study on biological characters of T. gamsii show that,25℃and7is the most suitable temperatureand pH value for the development of T. gamsii, respectively. PDA medium is the best choice for thesporulation and mycelial growth, colony diameter is about7.92cm after48h, and the quantity of sporulationis about5.36×10cfu/ml; glucose and beef extract is the best carbon source and nitrogen source for thesporulation and mycelial growth, respectively.3. Evaluations on different microbial inoculums in the control of vicia faba root rot show that, regarding the experiment of big vicia faba, the control effects of microbial fertilization of T. gamsii TXJ-1B,Trichoderma harzianum, and bacillus subtilis are75.30%,86.79%and71.86%, respectively. The highestcontrol effect of86.79%was obtained in the treatment of Trichoderma harzianum applied as seed dressingcombined with furrow application in high concentration after the application of50d, plant height, stemdiameter and yield increased65.56%,13.98%and221.13%to compare with the control, respectively. Incomparison with treatment of68%hymexazol·thiram, the yield increased76.30%significantly.Regarding the experiment of small vicia faba, All of three microbial inoculums showed80%high controleffect,The treatment of microbial fertilization of T. gamsii TXJ-1B showed the most high effect of89.16%after the application of50d, the plant height and yield increased18.63%and72.41%to compare with thecontrol, respectively, whereas the stem diameter showed little difference. In comparison with treatment of68%hymexazol·thiram, the yield increased48.40%significantly.
