The Alveolar Echinococcosis(AE)also called “Insect carcinoma”, one of the most dangerousparasitic zoonosis, is caused by viscera of Intermediate host infection with larva of Echinococcusmultilocularis, such as: rodents, human beings. There are two main types of AE route oftransmission, respectively, the rodents are captured by foxes and domestic/grazing dogs. However, some reports showed that the prevalence of Em in wild foxes is higher than domestic dogs, at leasttwo or three times. Another, reports on dogs with EM infection in xinjiang is very few, so thefoxex should be the main wild final host in xinjiang. So carry out the EM epidemiologicalinvestigation on fox is imporment. There is a high incidence area of hydatid disease in northern Xinjiang, it is reported that thewestern Tianshan,Yili river valley is seriously prevalenced, and Zhaosu basin locat in the mid ofnorthern Tianshan, is in the range of infected area. Therefore, carried out the research of AE at thelocal regions, provide the basis for comprehensive prevention, has an imporment significance. The investigate research take the wild Microtus gregalis Pallas and Vulpes vulpes asobject, which catched and collected in Zhaosu basin. Combining the Echinococcosis infection ofMicrotus gregalis Pallas and Vulpes vulpes, the distribution of Microtus gregalis Pallas, the livertissue biopsy of positive samples evaluate the prevalence of EM in this region. The results as follows:(1) We did the density and species of Rodent at Zhaosu basin in April and September,2013,251mice including one species of rodents were captured. The Microtus gregalis Pallas is dominantspecies in two artificial grassland. Using specific trap method, about15~50throat cranial rats perhectare.(2)251captured rats were necropsied, and did biopsy to identify the suspicious lesions, more than21exist Echinococcus infection, the average infection rate is8.3%, but the infection rates weresignificantly different respectively20.93%,5.71%in April and September,2013.(P<0.05).(3) This investigate collected6wild Vulpes vulpes in the local region,3has EM Adult throughidentified, the infection rates is50%. The results showed that:The Microtus gregalis Pallas is dominant species in the artificial grassland at Zhaosu basinand has high rodents density.Recommended local authorities to take effective measures to preventharmful rodents. The investigate confirmed that the Microtus gregalis Pallas has infect with Echinococcusmultilocularis larva, Vulpes vulpes has EM adult infect.also cleared the complete life cycle of EMin the local region. that Vulpes infect with EM adult, eggs are eating by rodents(rats) accidentally, infected with Echinococcus multilocularis larva and developed. While rodents are catched byvulpes, and develops into adult.. This discovery has an important epidemiological significance.
