Food is an essential resource to our survival. Food issue is a big issue related to people’slivelihood. Food quantity, quality and safety not only directly affect one country’s politicalstability, economic development and social harmony, but also affect the rest countries of theworld. Due to the features of stored grain as wide distribution, enormous quantities, longstorage period, our country’s food security has become a prominent issue. Authentic andreliable food reserve is an important part of food security. A timely and accurate knowledge ofthe grain storage is the vital support for dealing with domestic and international issues.Therefore, the country sets the amount of grain stock as the foundation of grain productionand macro-control. The monitoring issues of food storage have also been attached greatimportance by the country ’s food sector. In order to avoid fraud and other irregularitieswhich have occurred in the management of food stocks, the country will make an annualclearance investigation on the storage. At present, our country has a total of more than30,000grain depots. The annual clearance and check requires a lot of manpower, material andfinancial resources, therefore, it is urgent to carry out research work granary reserves losslessverification.In this paper, electromagnetic wave detection technology is adopted to launch a series ofresearch on the foreign body detection of the granary. It is firstly described about the workingrationale of ground-penetrating radar, performance parameters, data format. It is brieflyintroduced about several detection methods. Then it is discussed about the calculationprinciples of ground-penetrating radar when it is applied to the granary barn; iterative method,numerical stability and boundary conditions of the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD);then the FDTD simulation of electromagnetic waves is realized based on Matlab. By buildingdifferent models of granary foreign body, the accuracy of simulation results correctlyresistance, and the simulation results is verified and analyzed in detail; Finally, based onground-penetrating radar simulation software GprMax, the file input methods, formats,instructions, etc. were introduced the environment simulation of electromagnetic probingwithin warehouse is conducted on the most common horizontal warehouse and squat siloswith GprMax. The sound simulation results of simulating the warehouse roof, warehouse wall,warehouse at the end of the electromagnetic echo, providing support for our understanding ofthe impact of the internal structure on the electromagnetic echo barn. Through the simulationof the radar echo signal containing the foreign bodies, it turns out that the inner warehouseenvironment simulation is conducive to the accurate judgment and grasp of abnormal targets. Results of this research can provide theoretical support for us to accurately extractabnormal targets from the bunker-penetrating radar images. It can provide technical supportfor national food administration to timely and accurately understand the grain storagecondition, address the problems. Providing the technical support for lessening grain storage.At the same time, it can lay a solid foundation for non-destructive detection technology forgranary reserves.
