| Alfalfa is a perennial herbaceous plant for blossom, known as plant (Medicago). In the arid andsemiarid areas, alfalfa plays an important role in controlling the ecological environment and promoting theeconomic benefit. In recent years, jujube yards for alfalfa gains extensive attention of peasants, but themain purpose of planting alfalfa is still raising soil fertility, as well as producing the forage. At present, thepotency of the alfalfa as a forage grass isn’t stimulated fully, which varieties degrades, yield is low, qualitydeclines. There are three reasons as followed: Firstly, the irrigation facilities where the alfalfa planted arepoor, which mostly in the saline alkali and barren land. Secondly, irrigation and fertilization are accordingwith the growth cycle of jujube. Finally, the management is extensive pasture. The aim of this research is toexplore the effects of the alfalfa production in the different irrigation amount by observing and analyzingthe botanical characters, root characteristics and regeneration performance. In order to provide reasonableirrigation for Xinjiang jujube yards intercropping, increase the yield of alfalfa, slow down the alfalfavarieties degradation and increase the economic benefit of alfalfa as a forage. This research shows that:(1)The highest yield of first crop Alfalfa is13357.75kg/hm2when irrigation amount is5250m3/hm2in the condition of jujube intercropping. The wattle number, branch number, stem diameter, stem and leafdry weight of alfalfa increase at first with the increase of irrigation amount, reaching the maximum value atthe amount of irrigation5250m3/hm2,and then reducing consistent with the change of yield. The number ofleaf dry weight of the second stubble grass is lower than that of the third stubble, but the number ofbranches and the stem diameter of the second stubble are higher than that of the third stubble, while thestem diameter of two stubble is similar.Cutting times has an effect on wattle number, branch number, stem diameter growth of alfalfa, but does notaffect alfalfa plant high and number of internodes; with the increase of irrigation amount, alfalfa branchnumber, plant height, stem diameter, internode number did not show obvious growth; irrigation amountplays an important role on alfalfa branch number; alfalfa branch number, plant height, internode numberincreases rapidly with the growing days, but alfalfa branch number grows slowly and the same of alfalfastem diameter growth for30-40d.The other indicators shows rapid growth.(2) Under the same irrigation amount, root biomass, root surface area and lateral root numberdecreases gradually with the soil depth increasing; with the increase of soil depth, root surface areadecreases gradually when the irrigation amount between3750m3/hm2and5250m3/hm2the irrigationbetween4500m3/hm2and6000m3/hm2root surface area decreases in0-40cm and increases in40-50cm;root biomass, root volume, root surface area is mainly concentrated in the soil depth of0-20cm, but lateral roots multiple concentrated at the0-10cm.Under different irrigation amount, alfalfa root biomass content, root volume, root surface area andlateral root number increases firstly and, in the irrigation5250m3/hm2reaches maximum value and thenreduces with the irrigation amount increasing. It indicates that under irrigation5250m3/hm2roots growthcondition, space development ability, nutrient absorption and resistance to barren ability is the strongest(3) Correlation analysis shows that there is significant positive correlation between stem diameter, leafdry weight, single stem weight and yield, while there is an extremely significant negative correlationbetween the number of internodes and yieldAmong alfalfa the botany traits, branch number and stem diameter is significantly positively correlated;strains of height and stem diameter, branch number and leaf dry weight, stem diameter and leaf dry weight, stem diameter and single stem weight is highly significant positive correlated; internodes number andbranch number, branch number, plant height and dry weight, single stem weight is negatively correlated;internode number and stem diameter is significantly negatively correlated.(4) The effect of different irrigation treatments on the water amount of alfalfa stem and leaf and ratioof dry-and-wet weight is significant. The water content of alfalfa stem and leaf increases obviously with theincrease of irrigation amount, and shows significantly positively correlation with stem and leaf of alfalfaand ratio of dry-and-wet weight, which indicating that the proper irrigation quantity can improve the alfalfaforage yield and quality in a certain extent. |
