The experiment which purposes in search of the best screening index, stage andpotassium level was studied with solution culture and soil experiments under alow-amount potassium. In this process, the amount of potassium absorption andpotassium utilization index were determined at seedling stage of maize in differentpotassium levels in order to construct a rapid and effective screening system of maizegenotype resisting a low-amount of potassium. The results showed that the suitable potassium concentration was0.1mmol/L K+content of the medium at the sixth-leave stage of maize. The potassium utilizationindex was better than the amount of potassium absorbed as the screening index.
