In order to explore thefertility temperature range and physiological sterility temperaturerange of thermo-sensitive genic male sterility rice under the critical temperature of fertility conversion,then find the breeding temperature of highest selfing seed set.Using the constant temperature water handing facilitiesin Hunan Agricultural University Rice Research Institutein2013, the materials, which selected thermo sensitive genic male sterile rice P88S and Zhun S, continuously processed for8d at the IV stage of panicle initiation with cold water in different temperature21、20、19、18、17℃, using natural temperature as the control(CK), tested the variation of physiological and biochemical substances in the young anicleswhen the treatment finished,confirmedthe pollen fertilitywith microscopyat heading stage, and gotselfing seed set.The results were as follows:1.Pollen and dyeing rate and seed setting rate of P88S and ZhunS, which was treated with continuously processed for8d in cold water21、20、19、17℃, showed a trend of decline with the temperature decreased. The pollen and dyeing rate and seed setting rate of P88S with21℃was highest, which respectively was86.00%,69.59%(test Ⅰ) and90.46%,68.96%(test Ⅱ). The pollen and dyeing rate and seed setting rate of P88S with17℃was lowest, which respectively was1.01%×0.00%(test Ⅰ) and7.03%、1.96%(test Ⅱ). The CK was0%. The pollen and dyeing rate and seed setting rate of ZhunS with20℃was highest, which respectively was91.05%,71.33%(test Ⅰ)and95.47%、69.98%(test Ⅱ). The pollen and dyeing rate and seed setting rate of ZhunS with17℃was lowest, which respectively was0.00%、0.00%(test Ⅰ)and6.08%、3.29%(test Ⅱ). The CK was0%.2.After different temperature treatment, change trend of soluble protein, soluble sugar and proline content in theyoung panicle of ZhunS was21℃>20℃>19℃>18℃>17℃>CK, while the change trend of P88Swas20℃>21C>19℃>18℃>17℃>CK, the highest was the treatment of20℃.3.1n P88S and ZhunS, thefertility temperature range respectively was between17℃and23.5℃,17℃and24℃,the optimal breeding temperature respectively wasabo ut21℃and 20℃, the generatedphysiologicalsterility temperature range respectively was between17℃to21C,17℃and20℃, the completephysiological sterility temperature all was about17℃.
