Hybrid rice seed production is the foundation of the popularization and application of the hybrid rice.However hybrid rice seed production is still a labor-intensive technology with artificial supplementary pollination in our country at present stage. Artificial supplementary pollination is characterized by low efficiency,labor intensity,short-distance pollen spread,uneven pollination and a waste of pollen and restrict the ratio of male and female parents and the width of the bed,which go against the mechanization planting and harvest.Therefore studies on technique of the unmanned helicopter used for plant protection and realizing mechanized pollination will play an important role in full-mechanized operation of hybrid rice seed production.This study was conducted in Qixinghu of Junshan in Hunan province in2012and Ledong Hainan province and the breeding base of Jinxin farm in Qixinghu of Junshan in Hunan province in2013to research the effects of hybrid rice seed production by using single rotor battery power agricultural plant protection unmanned helicopter for supplementary pollination.The key outcomes are as follows.(1)With the single rotor battery power agricultural plant protection for supplementary pollination of hybrid rice seed production,the results under the100times optical microscope (eyepiece10times xobjective10times) showed that three normal dyeing pollen in each view can completely meet the demand for outcrossing seed-setting.(2)With single rotor battery power agricultural plant protection unmanned helicopter for hybrid rice seed production,the average outcrossing seed-setting rate was44.3percent,the average yield was3.1t/hm2and the potential of outcrossing seed-setting rate reached69.8percent.(3)The unmanned helicopter pollination can greatly expand the ratio of male and female parents and the width of bed.The results of three experiments indicated that the width of male parents could be1.2to2meters and that of the female parents were7to12meters.Thus,mechanized planting and harvesting of hybrid rice seed production can come true.(4)The suitable ratio of male and female parents for single rotor battery power unmanned helicopter pollination can vary from6:40to8:80.
