ABATRACT The transition zone belongs to the warm temperate deciduous broad-leaved forest in north subtropical evergreen and deciduous broad-leaved forest region of Funiu Mountain National Nature reserve. Forest vegetation in the area is well preserved, the forest coverage rate reached 88%, lots more complete preservation of natural broad-leaved forest in north subtropical and warm temperate regions. The special geographical position and the complex ecological environment condition, and the human disturbance is small, so that this district saved the rich biodiversity resources. Some tributaries of the Yangtze River, the Yellow River is the three largest river system in Huaihe, the birthplace, as an important water conservation forest.Quercus variabilis is heliophile, often grow in mountain slope, the climate, soil adaptability. Low temperature capability is-20℃, in p H4-8 acidic, neutral and calcareous soil were grown, resistant to drought, barren, and the deep, fertile and appropriate moist and drainage good loam and sandy loam is the most appropriate, not resistant to water. Cork oak tree stem straight, such as shade cover, developed root system, strong adaptability, bark is not easy to burn, is to create a windbreak, water conservation forest and shelter forest of excellent tree species. Play water and soil conservation effect of Quercus variabilis forest at the same time, the study on the biomass and carbon sequestration potential in and for the province to the implementation of forestry carbon sequestration projects to provide basic reference data. This essay chooses the Funiu Mountain National Nature Reserve on the north slope of hilly region of 3 kinds of different growth stages natural secondary forest of Quercus variabilis forest investigation and study, the vegetation layer, litter layer and soil layer of biomass and carbon storage, to for the development of the area of Quercus variabilis forest biomass and carbon storage estimation to do some preliminary exploration and research work and look forward to can provide basic data for the study of China’s regional scale natural secondary forest ecosystem biomass estimation and function of carbon sink, but also provide a reference for the sustainable development of forest ecosystem management. Through the cork oak three samples of different growth stages in the field investigation and experimental determination of carbon content analysis. The results are as follows:(1) In different growth stages of Quercus variabilis forest, tree stand biomass and carbon storage accounted for the largest proportion, in the tree layer, trunk biomass(carbon storage) accounted for dominance.(2) In different growth stages of Quercus variabilis forest, soil depth 40 cm, live fine roots of plants and death of fine root biomass(carbon storage) were decreased with soil depth increase and reduce.(3) The biomass of understory vegetation(carbon) increases gradually with age.(4) In different growth stages of Quercus variabilis forest, tree layer in different organs of carbon content rate of size variation was leaf > branches > stem > root > bark.(5) Soil bulk density of Quercus variabilis forest at different growth stages showed from the surface to the soil depths increase with depth and gradually increasing trend; at the same time with the increase of soil depth, the contents of soil organic carbon in different growth stages sharp decline, to soil the bottom(30 ~ 50cm) of organic carbon content is the lowest.(6) Carbon storage of Quercus variabilis forest at different growth stages of forest soil at various levels are with the increase of soil depth decreased, the surface 0 ~ 10 cm soil carbon reserves biggest. The young forest soil in 0 ~ 50 cm carbon storage was 43.49 t·hm-2, the middle age forest was 83.67 t·hm-2, mature forest was 67.53 t·hm-2.
