| As new varieties in home gardening, ornamental vegetables become more and more popular with people. Cabbages as one of leaf vegetables are indispensable for people, but the research on the ornamental cabbages is relatively scarce at present. Therefore, study the ornamental values of cabbages and the key cultivation techiques on the basis of edibility is extremely significant.This study screened out the excellent one which is edible and ornamental from eight varieties of cabbages firstly. Then study it respectively from light green substrate, new ecological fertilizer and water management technology.The main results showed as follows:1. The morphological indexes such as plant height, leaf length, leaf shape, leaf color and the physiological indexes such as chlorophyll content, anthocyanin content and soluble sugar content of the eight varieties showed large differences under the conditions of cultivation substrate. The comprehensive evaluation model of ornamental cabbages established by the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) showed that: the ornamental value of purple cabbages was obviously higher than the green ones; The ornamental value of ‘Ziyoucai’ and ‘Ziyi’ was level 1; The nutritional quality of ‘Ziyoucai’ and ‘Suzhouqing’ was higher than other varieties, reached level 1; Considered of the two aspects ‘Ziyoucai’ reached the highest score, showed that its comprehensive quality is best.2. On the basis of the volume of organic and inorganic substrate ratio is 2:1, the different ratio of peat and coir pith had different influence on the plant growth, biomass and photosynthetic physiological indexes of ‘Ziyoucai’. The growth conditions of peat: coir pith was 2:1 were best and the biomass were biggest within the treaments; Besides, the water content, anthocyanins content, soluble sugar and soluble protein content of this treatment were the highest and with significant difference from control.3. The different application amounts(0.25-1.00 g/pot)of bamboo biochar organic fertilizer effeted obviously on the morphological indexes of Brassica campestris L. ssp. Chinensis(L.)‘Ziyoucai’. The 0.75 g/pot was most helpful for increasing its biomass. The water content and chlorophyll content of treatments were higher than control while the soluble sugar and vitamin C content were less than it. The soluble protein content of 0.25 g/pot was higher than control. The nitrate content of treatments increased significantly when the application was more than 0.75 g/pot. All these indicated that the application amounts effect on its physiological indexes greatly.4. The different water holding capacity(45%-90%) effected significantly on the growth and physiological of ‘Ziyoucai’. The morphologies of four treatments were promoted and proportional to the water holding capacity compared with conventional irrigation. The water content, anthocyanins content, soluble sugar and vitamin C content of 75%-90% of water holding capacity were better than control and the other two treatments.This paper compared the varieties of ornamental cabbages and studied the key cultivation techniques, it can provides theoretical basis and technical guidance for the cultivate management and will be conducive to the wider application of ornamental cabbages. |
