China has a long history of farming and intercropping plays an important role in boosting yield. Utilization of various agricultural resources is greatly improved by intercropping. Our country lags behind in forage industry, so boosting forage yield has very important role on national animal husbandry development. This research was set up in a factorial experiment design and pot experiments were carried out to study the changes of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous transfer, when alfalfa and maize intercropping system inoculated with AMF and Rhizobium. We got following conclusions:In alfalfa and maize intercropping system, biomass of alfalfa and maize were increased by inculating and inoculating also promoted nitrogen and phosphorous absorption. The imbalanced biomass change of two plants was moderated by double inoculation. Total biomass was highest when intercropping system was inoculated by both AMF and Rhizobium. These results indicate that AMF and Rhizobium has synergistic effect.AMF promoted the nodulation of Rhizobium, Rhizobium promoted AMF colonization rate, that is to say AMF and Rhizobium had synergistic effect.Inoculated treatments promoted absorption of nitrogen and phosphorous both plants.15 N concentration of both plants significantly higher than single inoculation of AMF, indicated that double inoculation increased the absorption of soil nitrogen and phosphorous by extraradical hyphae, thus accelerated the growth of plants. Our results also showed that the relative 15 N uptake of maize was significantly higher than that of alfalfa in alfalfa and maize intercropping system.Carbon investments data of alfalfa and maize intercropping system was calculated by δ13C value of C16:1 ω5, which is used as AMF signature fatty acid and extracted from soil. It was found that alfalfa provided most of carbon(about 79.80%), when the intercropping system was single inoculated by AMF. However, the data from double inoculation treatments showed that double inoculation aggravated the unbalanced situation. In the case of a single inoculation of AMF, we may draw conclusion that alfalfa was the main donor of carbon to CMNs in this mixcultured system, however, maize obtained the lion’s share of nitrogen and phosphorous by CMNs. The situation developed into more unequal when intercropping system was double inoculated. But for all that, these findings indicate that alfalfa and maize intercropping system benefit more by double inoculating.
