Because of the lack of water, infertile soil and less biological diversity, the damage of ecological in drought area is difficult to repair. The relationship between the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, balloon toxin and soil factor of different soil layers was studied in four samples in Datong area, with alfalfa as host plants in this research, revealing the effects of AMF in improvement of soil. And in indoor simulated drought environment, the growth and drought resistance of 3 kinds of plant was studied by inoculation of AMF. The results were as follows:(1) Mycorrhizal infection rate had no relationship with spore density. The colonization of AMF had a positive correlation with organic matter, nitrate nitrogen and available phosphorus(P<0.05), AMF can increase the efficiency of phosphorus, improve the effectiveness of nitrogen and phosphorus around rhizosphere, improve the content of available carbon source. TEG and EEG had a significant positive correlation with the colonization of AMF, organic matter and nitrate nitrogen(P < 0.05). The EG can promote organic compounds in the soil.(2)Compared with that in normal water supply, the plant growth of 3 kinds of plant were highly reduced under drought stress. The inoculation of AMF promoted the growth of 3 kinds of plant. Drought stress resulted in lower inoculation rate of AMF with host plants, decreasing the infection rate from 78.96%, 74.49%, 74.97% to 67.29%, 65.49%, 68.04%.(3)Drought stress led to the rapidly decrease of moisture content of plant leaves, resulted in cell membrane permeability increasing and excessive MDA. At this point, intracellular osmotic regulation substances such as proline, soluble protein and soluble sugar was accumulated,antioxidant enzyme system adjusted the activity of CAT, POD and SOD. All of these brought about the increasing of cell osmotic pressure and removing of excessive ROS, slowing down the membrane lipid peroxidation. The vaccination of AMF can further induced producing of soluble protein content of three kinds of plant; increasing sainfoin and proline content of sainfoin and white clover, which can regulate cell osmotic pressure, making plant maintain normal metabolism under low activity of protective enzyme and improving tolerance of plant.(4)In comprehensive evaluation about drought resistance of three kinds of plant, the endurance to drought of alfalfa and sainfoin was stronger, while white clover was weak. The inoculation of AMF had significantly improved the tolerance of three kinds of plant to drought resistance, effects on alfalfa was the most effective, the comprehensive evaluation value increased 0.405, next was white clover, sainfoin was the last, increased only 0.214.
