It is important in the field of grain circulation that how to ensure safety of the grain in granaries. As one of our country’s important commodity grain base, Northeast China, in every year the loss of a lot of grain due to improper storage methods, not only cause damages to the green ecological agriculture, but also is a serious threat to food security. Regardless of external atmospheric conditions and climate factors food storage when people stored grain which will inevitably lead to grain mold, deterioration. Therefore, it is necessary to research, promotion and apply rational grain storage techniques according to natural climatic conditions in different regions of the provinces. And then, this paper puts forward the preliminary idea about division of grain storage.In this paper referring to the domestic and foreign grain storage region division method, based on the extensive research, geographical area for grain storage indicators were focused on the divided indicators of the grain storage Geographical region. Using the method of GIS technology and mathematical and statistical analysis, carried out the regionalization of the grain storage in Jilin Province and Northeast China(including Jilin, Liaoning, Heilongjiang and eastern Inner Mongolia). And then, the paper analyzed and estimated the suitability of each grain storage region briefly, to provided scientific reference on Jilin safe grain storage and grain storage economics and reference for grain storage regionalization. The full paper contains the following research:1. Considering the grain storage influence of geographical features and climatic factors, according to various meteorological stations in Jilin which the national weather service published observed each month(relative humidity, average temperature, sunshine, wind speed, precipitation) during 2001 to 2012.And using the above data, calculated the equilibrium moisture for the study through grain heat balance model, sorted and amended to ensure the integrity and uniformity of the distribution of research data.2. Analyzing the close relationship between the climate change and the grain safe storage, looking for the key factors affecting the climate safe storage of grain, and selecting the appropriate indicators of the grain storage geographical division. Analyzing and referencing the results of previous research, combined with the actual situation in Northeast China, and determined the average equilibrium moisture during ≥15℃ as primary division indicator in each grain storage geographical area. At first, the paper divided the grain storage area in Jilin province into three areas through research and discussion. They are Midwest plains region, Mid-Levels region and Eastern mountainous region. Then, northeast China researched and divided for four large grain storage areas. Further wherein the three regions were subdivided according to secondary division indicator due to the temperature and topographic difference between the cases of the major grain storage area. Eventually the Northeast is divided into Chifeng- Tongliao hilly region, Inner Mongolia Plateau region, Songnen Plain region, around Bohai Bay coastal region, Sanjiang Plain area, Lesser Khingan Mountains region and Changbai Mountain region total seven small grain storage regions.3. With the GIS platform, making thematic map of Jilin province grain storage geographical regionalization. According to the grade index of grain storage geographic zoning, using GIS technology, to achieve visualization and grain storage geographic feature zoning of agricultural climate resources. 4. Climate characteristics of different storage areas, and compared the average air relative humidity, average temperature, average wind speed, average precipitation, average sunshine hours and the average equilibrium moisture variation characteristics of different grain storage area, put forward reasonable suggestions of grain storage methods to all storage areas with suitable.
