With the rabbit breeding scale expanding unceasingly, the outbreak of various diseases, particularly bacterial disease, caused a great loss to the breeding, meanwhile, abusing the antimicrobial agents makes the drug resistance of pathogens intensified. Thus it brings new diffculties of rabbit disease prevention and controlling. In recent years, with the disease accreting unceasingly by Staphylococcus aureus in rabbits, which has great harm. Therefore,it has important significant to carry out Staphylococcus aureus resistance and drug resistance gene testing analysis, guiding the clinical medicine and further study of resistance mechanisms.From 2013 to 2014,41 Staphylococcus aureus were isolated from sick rabbit, it contains 31 strains Methicillin-Resistantst Staphylococcus aureus. Susceptibility of those strains to 17 antimicrobial agents was determined by Kirby-Bauer. The results indicate that 68.29%-75.61%of them displayed resistance to β-lactam antibiotics, and 63.41%~85.37%,58.54%~65.85%,34.15%~36.59%,19.51%,29.27%,31.37% to aminoglycosides, tetracyclines, macrolides, vancomycin, ciprofloxacin and SMZ-TMP respectively.11 resistance types were occurred, the isolates showed resistance to 3,4,6, 7,8,9,10,11,12,13and 14 drugs, among them isolates resistance to 7,9 andll drugs were most widely distributed, the resistance rate were 12.20%,17.07% and 21.95% respectively.The resistance genes (mecA, aac(6’)/aph(2"), aph(3’)-Ⅲ, ant(4’,4"), erm, tetM) were detected by PCR. The assay showed that relevance ratio of mecA, aac(6’)/aph(2"), aph(3’)-Ⅲ, ant(4’,4"), erm and tetM were 75.61%(31/41),92.68%(38/41),53.66% (22/41),80.49%(33/41),46.34%(19/41) and 70.73%(29/41)In conclusion, Staphylococcus aureus isolated from Sichuan Province exhibited very severe resistance to 17 antimicrobial agents, and widespread multi-drug resistance phenomenon. Resistance genes were detected by PCR, and were correlated with the resistance phenotype.
