Research On The Emotion Space Of The Use Of Plants In Urban Open Space

Emotion is an important part of human social interaction. Since urban construction and development can not be separated from the emotion and people also need emotional space in the life, the emotional space emerges thus. Emotional space can be divided into many different types based on the theme and atmosphere, such as space of leisure, entertainment and meditation or memory, or the atmosphere of holiday and celebration. Plants play a very important role in the process of human development, for they can provide a rich variety of resources for human beings in the daily life. Plants have many characteristics. They can be divided into evergreen and deciduous plants in accordance with seasonal characteristics and can be divided into flowery, fruitful and leafy plants in accordance with their ornamental characteristics. Different characteristics contain a lot of emotion, but the emotion reflected by plants is rarely shown in related designs, so the manifestation of emotion is not commonly seen.This paper defines the urban open space and emotional space through referring to relevant materials and the researches on the issues of open space and emotional space. Moreover, this paper takes the plant emotion as the theme, puts forward the concept of plant map and displays the significance of plant symbolization based on the research on folk custom, politics, art, life and other fields. In the end, the paper builds a comprehensive plant map containing the appearance characteristics of plants or cultural connotation attached by human beings and applies the plant map into the construction of urban open space. The specific combination modes are built based on the relation between the plant and space. Firstly, the spatial form of individual plant contains the natural and artificial beauty; the construction of plant space is researched from the aspects of color, layout and seasonal changes. In the end, the emotional space of urban open space is built through the different collocation of artistic conception, such as the different collocation of different plants, plants and landscape pieces, plants and buildings, plants and climate. Different effects and theme patterns will be produced through putting different plants into different context.In the end, the paper takes the plants in Qingdao city as an example to conduct research, including the ancient and famous trees, unique flowers and trees and other plants in Qingdao, and analyzes the application plant emotion in the existing open space. This paper takes the Badaguan scenic spot and the Happy Coastal City in Qingdao City as the case to analyze the plant emotion of Badaguan scenic spot and Happy Coastal City in Sifang District and puts forward a relative comprehensive instruction on the construction of emotional space with plants so as to provide reference for the emotional diversity in the construction of urban open space.
