Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is important vegetable in China, could be cultivated in four seasons. However, its cultivation in spring is limited by premature bolting. The main solution is to select radish varieties with bolting tolerance as well as delay bolting time by changing its cultivation condition or using plant growth substances. Firstly selects radish inbred lines with bolting tolerance and high quality, investigating and comprehensively evaluating the properties of the 22 radish inbred lines saved by our discussion group. It also involves the research of the influence of 3 plant growth substances (ABA, MH, PP333) on late bolting and the mechanism of inhibition of bolting. The results are as follows:1. By comprehensively selected of 22 radish inbred lines, screened three high quality inbred lines.which numbers are R09-29-1-2, R09-84-1-6, R09-101-6-4, and R09-120-2-7. R09-29-1-2, whose bolting time is 2 days later than the CK’Han Baiyu’, is self-incompatible, foliage is open, root’weight is 1.38 kg, and the shape of root is long column. R09-133-1-10, whose bolting time is later 7 days than’Han Baiyu’, is the latest bolting of inbred lines, self-incompatible, foliage is semi-erect, and root’s weight is 0.52 kg. R09-120-2-7, whose bolting is 5 days later than’Han Baiyu’, is self-incompatible, foliage is semi-erect, and root’s weight is 1.41 kg.2. Through the correlation analyses of the properties of the 22 inbred lines, the results showed that bolting is positive correlation with soluble sugar content but negative correlation with cellulose content. Root weight positive correlation with root diameter, root length and stain amplitude.3. ABA, MH, and PP333 are delay the’Duanye’(without bolting tolerance) and’Han Baiyu’(with bolting tolerance) bolting time. The influence of MH on’Duanye’is better than that of ABA and PP333.400mg/L of MH could delay 10 days. The effect of PP333 on ’Han Baiyu’is better than that of ABA and MH.400mg/L of PP333 could delay 11 days.4. Treated by 3 plant growth substances, indexs changed trend in the leaf:C/N, soluble sugar content, and starch content decreased; the soluble protein content rised; peroxidase activity enhanced, and nitrate reductase activity weakens. These changes are all related to late bolting.
