The study area is 2244 km2 which is relying on Xiaoluanhe River basin including Yudaokou pasture, Yudaokou village, Laowopu village, Xilongtou village, Nanshanzui village and Kalunhougou pasture. Relying on the ecological clean small watershed management and forest near natural management concept, we carry out ecological restoration and protection of the area. After reading a large number of relevant literature and planning and design books and a number of field surveys and geographic information analysis, The study area in accordance with the comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of topography, climate, soil, vegetation, soil and water loss is divided into areas of water erosion and wind erosion, and then according to the division of the three zones concept we divided the area into six zones, the repair area, the control area and the protected area. For resistance to wind erosion, the ecological restoration area is 830.74 km2, the main measures are reducing the human activities and human disturbance, rely on natural restoration ability to improve speed of vegetation restoration and ecological system; ecological management area, which is 323.97 km2, the main measures are carrying out the construction of ecological engineering methods, engineering measures and plant measures combined to comprehensive treatment; ecological protection area,which is 242.54 km2, on the basis of carrying out the evaluation of land quality and carrying capacity, with the scientific and rational use and the system protection. For resistance to water erosion, the ecological restoration area which is 136.24 km2, the main measures are reducing human activity by blocking; ecological management area, which is 415.48 km2, the main measures are carrying out forestry ecological projects, improving the industrial structure; ecological protection area, which is 295.01 km2, the main measures are riparian area management and the new rural construction.After the construction of ecological restoration and protection,local soil physicochemical properties and soil structure is improved, water retention is enhanced, the region’s natural ecology capacity is increased, local residents living environment and production conditions are improved, the development of economy, culture and society is promoted. This project is designed to provide experience and practice in Ecological restoration and management in Hebei province and even whole mountain in north of China, effectively provided a strong basis for the regional economic development. In order to accelerate the pace of socialist modernization.
