Research On Lianas Landscape Application In Changsha

Relied on its unique ecological service functions and high ornamental value, Liana is an indispensable material and widely used in urban landscaping, such as vertical green scaffolding, wall,fence wall, etc.Based on the extensive collections of research literature of liana application and connected with the investigation and analysis of it in Changsha City, we have especially made a study on liana species selection, application methods, modeling techniques and other aspects. The main findings are as follows:1.Various of kinds, few applications. There are more than 2500 kinds of lianas in our country and around 600 species in Hunan, however, they are rarely applied to landscaping. According to the survey, only 11 species are applied in Changsha gardens, such as Wisteria sinensis(Sims), Sweet, Parthenocissus tricuspidata, Hedera nepalensis K, Koch var.sin ensis(Tobl.) Rehd etc., which are mainly used for scaffolding, three-dimensional green wall. We found the following shortages in survey, few liana species selections, simple landscape forms, insufficient innovation, small application scale, plant growing condition is not good, landscape effect is not prominent.2.First proposing the theory and methods of lianas art form, emphasizing the ecological, artistic and cultural factors and proposing the new model of Lianas art form-Lianas sculpture. According to the feature of the different models, we concluded out 7 basic types, which are geometric, animal, character, building, words, pattern and mechanical type and recommend appropriate types for different green environment.3.According to the difference of lianas garden application methods and morphological characteristics, the lianas are divided into three categories including wound Lijia, climbing wall and covering surface. And clearly stated the suitable applications types of Lianas.Lianas is an important material for landscaping which can play a unique part in ecological function. Like lianas sculture has various of forms, flexible plasticity, widely application, which will become a new type for green space landscape and with great significance for beautifying the urban environment.
