Plants Selection For Flower Border And Its Landscape Use In City Landscape Of Changsha Area

Flower border, as an excellent style for Planting design, can enrich landscape and improves the urban ecological benefits. Being increased advocating to ecological ideas today, it is very interesting and meaningful to make clear to promote planning level of flower border in urban garden. Thus, the paper makes a systematic study on the method of plant selectoin and application for flower bodrer, and takes Changsha landscape as the example, selects the plant suitable for Changsha's flower border. and designs the flower borders in different places of Changsha, which has laid certain rationale for promotion of flower bodrer in Changsha city.The main results are as follow.1. By analyzing the development of flower borders, the flower border of connotation and characteristics are summarized. and the relationship of flower borders and other planting forms, the classifications of flower border are further analyzed.2. The paper analyses the flower border plant selection principles and the origin of the flower border plants, and discusses the aspects of the different flower border plant species3. Take the color theory's research as a foundation, the paper from the single color, the bi-color, multicolor, three kinds of color in the application form in the flower border, summarizes the flower border color design practices, and with the excellent color flower borders for example, analyses their color design techniques.4. From the composition of the plane and the facade structure of the flower border, the paper analyses and summarizes the flower border shape composition principles,and taking the outstanding vertical surface design flower border as an example, it analyzes its design technique in landscape.5. Having been investigating flower borders in Changsha landsecpe area for more than one year, it is summarized the current forms of the flowers borders in Changsha are mainly Lawn flower border, Curb flower border, Forest edge flower border, Wall flower border and Waterfront flower border.60 species of various ornamental plants were calculated which belong to 43 families, among these species, 9 for nnuaals and biennial,23perennials,21 for flowering shrubs,2 conifers and 5 species are ornamental grasses.,in which there are 22 species applications are more.8. Beyond the investigations of the materials from networks, books, papers, as well as landscope experts'point of views,206 kinds of plants chosed from the wild decorative plant, the successful application plant in Shanghai, and other beautiful but extensive.management plant,are very suitable for flower border practise in Changsha,9. By practising the flower border design methods, the paper makes preliminary designs for flower borders in different places such as parks, paths, communities in Changsha.10.Based on the investigations of flower border's application situation in Changsha city, it is discovered that the application scope does not widespread, the floristic component are few, the design level lower, ect. It is suggested that the government should pay much more attention to flower border, and should enhance the scientific research, at this field, strengthen propaganda, raise the designers' level,and so on.
