Yutangba of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Hubei is the place that own the world’s only independent Selenium Deposit, is recognized one of the typical high Selenium-riched area. In recent years, related research scope involving Yutangba Selenium-riched area and selenium is very broad, and achieved fruitful research results. However, there are few reports about soil animal related high selenium-rich area of Yutangba. This study was carried out for four soil sampling of high selenium rich area of Yutangba in May, July, September and November in 2015, isolated the soil arthropods of soil samples by using improved dry funnel in the laboratory, and further identification. According to the identification results, the composition and distribution characteristics of soil arthropods are analyzed from the aspects of time, level and vertical; in addition, the soil physicochemical factors(soil moisture, p H, Se content) were measured, and by using the canonical correspondence analysis(CCA) software, the correlation between composition and distribution of soil arthropod and soil physical & chemical factors were analyzed, the conclusion obtained are as follows:(1) According to the four soil sampling of high selenium rich area of Yutangba in 2015, total 8891 soil arthropod were isolated from soil, the average density was 759.91 numbers/m2, belonging to 10 classes and 23 orders; among them, the dominant species were Acarina of Arachnida and Entomobryomorpha of Collembola, the numbers are 3563 and 2527 respectively, accounted for 40.07% and 28.42% of the total number respectively; the common populations include Poduromorpha of Collembola, Diptera、Hymenoptera、Coleoptera of Insecta, Symphypieona of Collembola, the number are 792, 572, 285, 218 and 196 respectively, together accounting for 23.20% of the total number. On the distribution of different soil layers, the number of soil animals layer was 5670 in 0-5cm, accounting for 63.77% of the total, 2197 in 5-10 cm layer, accounting for 24.71%; 1024 in 10-15 cm layer, accounting for 11.52%, it has obvious aggregation. In the population diversity index, both the total distribution collected from different batches and the vertical distribution of different soil layers, all of which has high diversity.(2) In this study, the soil moisture content, p H value and the content of selenium of high selenium rich area of Yutangba were measured respectively. The average water content of the sampling area was 33.06%; the value of p H in the soil sampling area is acidic, the average p H value of all samples was 5.6; the average value of soil selenium content was 62.84μg/g, which proves that Yutangba is high selenium-rich area.(3) The correlation between soil arthropod and soil physical & chemical factors was analyzed by software named canonical correspondence analysis(CCA) of Canoco for Windows. The results showed that the soil moisture content, p H value and Se content were related to the composition and distribution of soil arthropod, and are influence factors of composition and distribution and diversity of soil arthropod.
