The demand of high quality rice is increased significantly as the living standard of people improved during the recent years. Numerous studies reported that a poor grain filling was observed in the rice varieties which have large plant height because of the logging risk is increased when the rice plant is over height, and it will also bring negative effects to the rice appearance quality and milling quality. Nevertheless, because the growth stage is longer and the plant disease and pest happens more frequency than the traditional rice varieties, more pesticides are needed to protect the high quality rice varieties and it will effect the hygienic qualty greatly. So some cultivation methods are need to investigated in order to solve the problems which mentioned above, for example, the plant type of ratooninging rice is improved significantly when ratooninging treatment. According the results of previous studies, we conducted a field experiment in 2015,11 high quality rice varieties were chosen as experiment materials which included:LYZ, NX18, MXZ, MBYZ, ZX1, HM122, XWX17, HHZ, LDQ7, FLYX1 and XLY223,rice ratooning treatment(RT) and nonrice ratooning treatment(SD1) were seted, time of treatment was booting stage and 20 cm stub were retained. The objective of this studies was high grain and high rice quality by comparing the yield, the yield components and the rice quality of the 11 varieties in the field after ratooninging treatment. The main conclusion are as follows: 1. RT prolonged the growth duration of every tested varieties, average growth duration of RT was 165 d,which was longer than SD1 at 22 d. While, duration from RT to mature was 88 d merely, which was shorter than SD1 at 55 d. Duration from RT to harvest became shorter decreased the times of diseases and insect pests outbreak and decreased the times of spray insecticide transparently which possesses great significance for promoting quality rice hygienic quality. 2. The average plant height of all varieties in RT was 98 cm which was 24.6% lower than SD1, meanwhile, LAI of RT at heading stage was 42.4% lower than that of SD1. Controlling biomass accumulation and leaf area properly benefits for superior lodging resistance. Furthermore, RT presented superior grain leaf ratio and HI which ensured high yield greatly. 3. RT decreased grain yield of partial quality rice varieties, such as FLYX1, XWX17, MXZ, HHZ, MBYZ and LDQ7 yield of RT fell between 10.4%-41.5%. The variety of the largest decline was LDQ7, the lowest was FLYX1. Shortage of biomass and spikelets per panicle accounted for RT yield lose. Yield of LYZ, NX18, ZX1 and HM122 after RT had no significant difference with SD1, reason was panicles per m2, grain filling, grain weight and harvest index of RT offseted the shortage of biomass and spikelets per panicle. 4. Compared for SD1, RT increased the head rice rate of NX18, ZX1 and XWX17, and there had no difference between RT and SD2. Average chalky grain percentage with RT was 9.53%, 7.74 percent point higher than SD1, and 0.57 percent point lower than SD2, variety of the highest and lowest chalky rice rate were LYZ and XLY223 respectively. Average chalkiness of RT、SD1、SD2 was 2.19%、0.43% and 2.70%. RT increased chalkiness of ZX1、HM122、XWX17、HHZ、LDQ7、FLYX1 and XLY223 with SD1, decreased chalkiness of LYZ、MXZ and XLY223. Length width ratio of LYZ, NX18, MXZ and LDQ7 were same in different treatments, length width ratio of RT were lower than SD1 and there had no difference between RT and SD2. Average amylose content of RT was 23.5%,which was higher than SD1 and SD2 by 9.30 and 6.70 percent point; average gel consistency of SD1, SD2 and RT were:79.2 mm, 58.2 mm and 57.6 mm, gel consistency of RT was lower than SD1, and there had no difference between SD2 and RT; average protein content of RT was 9.75%, which was higher than SD1 and SD2 by 1.23 and 1.70 percent point.
