Effect Of Mowing Period And Times On The Yield And Nutrition Level Of Alfalfa And Sainfoin

For cows and sheep,grass is one of the main feed. Alfalfa and sainfoin is the major source of feed in grass.It is the important problem to obtain a good quality of alfalfa and sainfoin.In this study, forage species is collected as studies in Xiniu village,Dimao town,Xunyi county in 2014, its production,conventional nutrient and paradigm detergent fiber were measured. And then the forage yield and nutritional quality were evaluated in the grey relational analysis. We found the best alfalfa and the best mowing period and the best cutting times. The results were as follows:1. Xinmu No.2 alfalfa had the highest fresh yield at the early blooming stage in 2014. Xinmu No.2 alfalfa had the highest hay yield at the seed bearing stage, and the crude protein is the highest, the crude protein of Xinmu No.2 alfalfa and Local alfalfa was significantly higher than those of sainfoin and(Gaohui)alfalfa(P<0.05). The crude fiber in the seed bearing stage was higher than the other mowing period, Xinmu No.2 alfalfa’s crude fiber was higher than the other species(P<0.05). Neutral detergent fiber was highest in the seed bearing stage, neutral detergent fiber of Xinmu No.2 alfalfa was significantly higher than those of Xinmu No.1 alfalfa, sainfoin and(Gaohui)alfalfa(P<0.05). Acid detergent fiber was highest in the seed bearing stage, acid detergent fiber of Xinmu No.2 alfalfa was significantly higher than those of Xinmu No.1 alfalfa, sainfoin and(Gaohui)alfalfa(P<0.05). Acid detergent fiber in different species were different without significance(P>0.05). Acid insoluble ash was highest in the vegetation stage, acid insoluble ash of local alfalfa was significantly higher than those of the others(P<0.05). RFV was the highest in the vegetation stage, RFV of local alfalfa was significantly higher than that of sainfoin(P<0.05).2. Fresh yield and hay yield of Xinmu No.2 alfalfa were significantly higher than those of the other species(P<0.05), crude protein in first cut was higher than those in second and third cut, crude protein of Xinmu No.2 alfalfa and local alfalfa was significantly higher than those of sainfoin and(Gaohui)alfalfa in the first cut(P<0.05). The crude fiber in third cut was higher than that in first and second cut. In third cut, the crude fiber of local alfalfa was significantly lower than those of the other species(P<0.05). In different cut times, the crude ash of Xinmu No.2 alfalfa was higher than those of the other species(P<0.05). In different cut times, nitrogen-free extract of sainfoin was not significantly different(P>0.05). In different species, neutral detergent fiber in third cut was higher than those in first and second cut(P<0.05). In third cut, neutral detergent fiber of sainfoin and Xinmu No.1 alfalfa was significantly higher than those of Xinmu No.2 alfalfa,local alfalfa and(Gaohui)alfalfa(P<0.05). In different species, acid detergent fiber in third cut was significantly higher than those in first and second cut(P<0.05). In third cut, acid detergent fiber of local alfalfa was significantly lower than those of the other species(P<0.05). RFV in first cut was higher than those in second and third cut(P<0.05). In first cut, RFV of sainfoin was significantly higher than those of the other species(P<0.05).In summary, yield and nutrient value of Xinmu No.2 alfalfa were higher than those of the other species(P<0.05), it is suitable for the loess plateau hilly-gully region. In early blooming stage, the yield was high.And the bud stage is the best stage for cutting stage, first cut is the best times for cutting times.
