Tomentella is very common and dominant mycorrhizal fungi in north temperate, temperate and tropical regions of forest ecosystem, especially in coniferous and deciduous broad-leaved forest. Tomentella fungi plays an important role in maintaining the stability of vegetation community in forest ecosystem. So far, the Index of Fungorum has recorded 89 species of this genus, China has no research on the fruiting body of this taxa. In recent years, Chinese scholars have found that many Tomentella species formed mycorrhizae with many tree species during the study of ectomycorrhizal community. Only a few studies have described the characteristics of the fungi in this genus, the research on Tomentella is still need to be strengthened. Soil samples of larch, pine, Pinus sylvestris, and Ostryopsis davidiana have been collected from Great Xingan, Chifeng, Daqingshan, middle and easten of Inner Mongolia. Ectomycorrhizae have been isolated.14 ectomycorrhizal morphotypes have been selected, and described morphologically and anatomically. At the same time, sequences of all 14 morphotypes have been obtained, and blast in UNITE. The results showed that these 14 morphotypes belonged to Tomentella, Pseudotomentella, Thelephoracsae. The results of this study can provide the basic data for the classification of Thelephoracea ectomycorrhizae in area of middle and eastern part of Inner Mongolia.
