In this paper, mangrove resources and related environmental factors in Shuidong Bay were investigated. And site types of mangrove shallows in Shuidong Bay were divided by the summary and analysis. At the same time, hierarchy analysis method was used to construct the framework of site evaluation index system of mangrove in Shuidong Bay in order to solve the low afforestation survival rate widespreadly, simple structure of community, lack of afforestation planning and the blindness of afforestation on the restoration and reconstruction of mangrove in Shuidong Bay. The results were followed as below:1. Investigation and analysis of mangrove resources in Shuidong Bay were developed thoroughly and field survey and analysis were put forward to count the kinds of mangrove plants and semi-mangrove plants such as Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Kandelia candel, Parmentiera cerifera, Avicennia marina, Excoecaria agallocha and Hibiscus tiliaceus distributed naturally in Shuidong Bay of Maoming. Mangrove plants such as Sonneratia caseolaris, Sonneratia caseolaris, Lagunm and semi-mangrove plants such as Pongamia pinnate were introduced successfully later. The distribution area of Sonneratia caseolaris and Lagunm was the most widely currently and artificial forest were pure forest mostly.2. Site classification system was established according to three level of the region, site group, site type for the first time. And mangrove shallows in Shuidong Bay were divided into three regions, nine site group and eighteen site type.3. Through buliding evaluated system of mangroves site in Shui dong Bay, adopting alaysis methods of stages, utilizing performance and their own characteristics of vegetations in each site types, which is applied to the comprehensive evaluation, filtering three suitable site types of reforestation. Result shows that in the top three are low tide with shale of medium dissolved salt mudflat site tpye, low tide with sand of medium dissolved salt mudflat site tpye and low tide with shale of high dissolved salt mudflat site tpye in economic, ecological and social benefit aspect. Therefore, it can be summarized that above three site types are suitable mudflats type of reforestation in Shuidong Bay mangroves. The results provide reliable theory basis for windbreak construction of Shui dongwan coastal mudflat in the future.4. Through making a follow-up investigation about the growth situation of seven kin ds of typical mudflat types of experimental forest and analysing, combined with now forest stand growth condition, community structure, coverage, renewal capacity and so on in outdoor survey results, which undergoing comprehensive evaluation and analysis. The Aegiceras corniculata, Kandelia candel and Sonneratia apetala are screened initially to be suitable planting species of diffucult mudflat in Shuidong Bay. They provide scientific evidences for species selection to the next step of buliding windbreak in coastal mudflat of Shuidong Bay.The economic development of coastal regions had raised to the level of whole cou ntry.It is now vital to establish and recover coastal protection forest, to protect the exis ted mangrove and ecological environment around coastal areas. The mangrove which has already lived in Shuidong Bay takes a great percentage of the square of this area. The subject I researched firstly is to divide the mangrove in Shuidong Bay according t o soil, to research how the groups of mangrove distribute and its growth situation. Sett ing up an analysis ofthe mangrove in Shuidong Bay and a system evaluation, having a good knowledge of establishing technology for different types of mangrove, providin g technological support and scientific basis for the recovering of the mangrove in Shui dong Bay, all these have great prospect in the future.
